Hi! I bought the small flap last year and ultimately sold my bag in March of this year for several reasons:
1) The double flap - I found it extremely annoying to go in and out of the bag as the interior flap is rigid and takes up space, which is already limited (and brings me to my next issue)
2) Space - it simply isn’t spacious!
3) Weight - it’s definitely on the heavier side, even when completely empty

I’m planning on purchasing a mini, and both the square and rectangular minis that I tried on in store solved all of those issues. Most notably, because they are single flaps they are more spacious and therefore a lot more practical, especially when you consider the price difference. In Canada the square mini is $4800, the rectangular is $5000 and the small classic flap is now $7875, which is insane! Even though I love and will usually only buy caviar, I’m willing to make the exception for the mini because it has so many other pros. Hope this helped!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I think all these arguments have me sold on the mini. And I'm from Canada too, so ya there is a huge difference in price, especially with the hefty taxes. I'm excited to get my hands on my 1st Chanel bag! I've been wanting it for so long. Now, let's hope i can find one in store! : )

I actually decided in a reissue mini because it's cheaper than a classic small, holds more than classic small, I prefer a single flap, and reissue mini has 4 strap grommets. I also don't like logos so prefer the mademoiselle style lock rather than the CC lock. And current classic minis come in lambskin, whereas reissue minis come in calfskin which is slightly more worryfree.

So, lots to consider when you're choosing which bag will work best for you. Good luck with whatever you decide on!!

I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. It helps a lot for someone who's never own a Chanel bag. I think I'm going to go for the mini!

I am currently eyeing on the so black mini reissue in the current season but I would love it in size small as it looks "more rectangular" and more like the size I can use for work.
Now reading your comment makes me think again of the hassle of the double flap, plus the price difference..
I am in a dilemma again lol

Watch some "what fits" videos on YouTube! You can see what people fit in the mini vs the small. I think minis might actually fit about the same amount of stuff as the Medium/Large classic flap... Also, think about how you want to carry the bag. I wanted a crossbody option and shoulder option. I think classic small is probably only a long shoulder/short shoulder bag for most people unless you're very petite or like your crossbody bags to hit higher on your body.

Last year I had been set on a small or Ml/L classic flap. I did tons of research, and am now sooooo happy that I chose a reissue mini instead.

Similar thoughts, I am not considering M/L classic flap because I want to be able to wear crossbody. I've decided I want a reissue which is an understated piece. so my struggle is whether to get the reissue mini available in store now or wait for a small reissue :p
What colour and hardware is yours?

Mine is black distressed calfskin with aged gold hardware. I probably would have preferred ruthenium hardware, but I like the aged gold, too :) It's my profile pic - here's a bigger version:

Hi!

I've been lurking a while but only just made an account!

I'm hoping to get a mini next year, hopefully a square because it looks cuter. I don't live in London so I would have to make a trip down to Bond Street...

Does anyone know when the minis tend to come out? I heard that around March is when they tend release in stores in England?

I spotted quite a large amount of purple bags in Chanel Singapore recently, including a mini bag in purple.

Looking to purchase a mini rectangle in black lambskin and SHW. Are they hard to find? Also I already have a black caviar jumbo classic flap with GHW and black caviar M/L in SHW. Will it be practical to have 3 black chanels?
