I ordered a sample of everyday minerals too. I hope I don't break out!

juicyChiq230 - I have a compact with mineral veil for touch ups during the day. I have found that I don't need my oil blotter sheets anymore since I've been using the minerals. My skin is actually getting in better shape with prolonged use, I think.

Hey guys... I tried BE, and I found that I needed touch-up coverage during the day... I have oily skin... and well BE is supposed to be the ultimate answer for people with oily skin... so I returned my starter kit back to Sephora...

I'm sure I was applying it wrong... but what do you ladies use as touch-up during the day?
you may use the mineral veil for touch-ups, or if you like you may try applying your BE foundation by spritzing your kabuki brush with some MAC fix+ or evian brumisateur, before buffing it to your face, and then finish it off with the mineral veil(DO NOT spritz your applicator brush when applying the mineral veil..this one goes on DRY..). this technique would give you a soft, dewy finish, which isn't oily, but the make-up stays the whole day, and you will notice that you don't have to do touch-ups (or it will make you do less touch-ups than you normally do..)
i also suggest you try MONAVE, i find it BETTER than BE and it really stays on my face the whole day, no oilies, noo touch-ups...and the finish is really immaculate...

go ahead and try MONAVE, i am certain that you will like it too, since you are into MMU, i highly recommend this brand.
i suggest you also try their angel finishing powder (really control oilies...i swear..better than BE's mineral veil)
i really love MMU and if i may add..valerie mineral make-up, and larenim are also worth the try..these are nice products that deliver results....and it's also affordable too....
goodluck, i hope you will also enjoy monave....=)

Larenim popped up as one of the first sites when I did a search on mineral makeup, I love their eyeshadow colours, I actually placed an order but due to an error it didn't go through then someone suggested I go to try mineral makeup out at Sephoras first which was a great idea.
I'm really looking for very matte eyeshadows that blend well, so whoever experimented with all these companies and has any input please feel free to share as well.

what shade of eyecolor are you looking for? monave has eyecolors too, you may want to try it out....i love buttercup, it looks great as an over-all lid wash, really opens up my eyes, and i can use it as an underye concealer as well...

Hi Jacq,

Wow, thanks for that long list of eyeshadow shades, I checked them out online but they're never the same as when you see them in person at the store ; )

At the moment I have Java brown I think - a soft matte black - a sparkly light pink and the iQuad set with the sandy, gold, earthy coppery and peacock greeny colours.

The most matte ones are the black and java, I'm going to check out monave, larenim and everyday minerals to find some more matte colours (I found that a lot of BE colours are shimmery)

I like the fact that everyday minerals uses paypal, it seems the other two use credit cards (often my international mastercard isn't recognized)

My everyday minerals arrived today!!

I got the free foundation kit, along with a eyeshadow kit for $18, the mini containers are so full that I can't imagine the regular size.
The shadodw shades are b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l.. check it out!

I am not much of a make up person. (Although, I realize maybe I do like makeup more than I acutally admit because I'm reading this forum and find myself hooked on a bunch of different threads!) But I also use the Bare Escentuals product line. I do appreciate that it looks really natural and the mineral veil is awesome (my FAVORITE part). I love the finish that it gives. But I have oily skin, and have noticed that throughout the day, I can get a little oily. So, I'm thinking about trying some of the other suggestions. But I love the concept. And I love the feel. And I really like the eye liner as well. I think I might try the Monave products though, just for something new.

P.S. A tip if you like B.E.- you can find some great deals from QVC on sets that include the brushes!!!!

I'm actually liking everyday minerals more than BareEscentuals, it seems more fine and not so "crystalizy" - it actually sticks to my skin without any mineral vitamins or anything.
I love that they've got matte colours that blend so well together, this is pretty much what I've been looking for. The colours are so so lovely.

The concealer is amazing, I noticed the consistancy is like corn starch very fine, and BE crystalizes more (the shadows especially which tend to flake off easily)

I'm really satisfied with Everyday minerals, more than I thought!
Give them a try I'm sure you'll be glad you did!

I don't use BE anymore because it's not 100% natural minerals and my acne prone skin was not getting any better. Per my dermatologist's hint, I started using Jane Iredale. Even the liquid foundation is 100% minerals and antioxidants. It gives you amazing coverage and the natural, no-make up look  I absolutely LOVE this brand!

glad to know you are loving everyday minerals. have you seen monave's site? if you think EM is better than BE, wait till you try monave and you'll see what i mean...
their concealer and foundation, plus the angel setting powder is way better than BE's mineral veil and EM. I prefer monave over EM (i had a break-out from using EM.. )
I higly recommend PURELUXE eraser powder/cream..works wonders on troubled skin..and the perfect PRIMER for any MMU!
