Lol. Miley's not involved at all.
She hired Larry Rudolph (Britney's manager) to architect her comeback and that's exactly what's going on. It's all him and his team.
She doesn't have any writing credit on WB and shares it with 7 other writers on WCS, so that should tell you about her involvement...
She seemed to be more involved during her previous era, but at the end of the day, it was just as manufactured and "try-hard" as her current attempt at being a grown-up pop star...

And just because you sing and act, doesn't mean you're good at it...

Just curious - does Larry Rudolph have a bad or "creepy" reputation? I always got the impression that he was awesome with Brit and really helped her, was there for her, a great manager, etc.? It's interesting that he is managing Miley with this new image. He's failing miserably IMO.

I know one thing... I hope Britney does not do a collab with Miley. UGH.

IMO comparing any big pop stars to Miley (Rihanna, Britney, Gaga, Katy Perry, etc. ) is just wrong lol. She is nowhere near any of them. She is just an awkward hot mess.

Well, he looks like a bit of a creep...
He's been with Britney since the beginning, I believe. The lolita phase, the VMA striptease, kissing Madge... all of that happened while he was her manager, so... he does have a knack for causing controversy centering around young female entertainers... :-s
Miley's current era's actually quite successful so far. EVERYBODY is talking about her, she's back in people's consciousnesses and both of her singles have done well. Of course, she'll need to sell albums if she wants to still be relevant by springtime and honestly, I think people will be over her and her antics by then...

Unfortunately, the Brit collabo is confirmed.

I don't necessarily agree with the Rihanna thing. She's already said in interviews years ago (around the GGGB era) that how she started out was not ever what she wanted. She said that she'd cut her hair prior to that album but when the big wigs at the record label found out they made her put a long weave back in. That she never wanted to be the "island girl" as far as marketing and music but that's what they made her do. She really had to fight for Umbrella and look what it did for her career. Only once her name got big enough did she start to push in the direction she really wanted to go, and then when her career exploded did she take a hard stance and say "now we're gonna do it my way".

If she said this she is downright LYING. I know people that produced her songs and they were nothing close to her idea nor did she push hard for anything, it is almost all the vision of her team (everyone from management to producers to stylists). Everyone I know that has worked with her in some way basically does a head shake and a little laugh about her

Miley's been pushing the same story as of late... That Hannah Montana and all that came after was never her, didn't feel natural, etc... So yeah I don't buy what any of these pop stars are selling. They're all just one big marketing machine.

Yep, no denying that! I agree... the Miley craze will fade fast I predict. And then people will laugh at all this one day.

NOOO Britney!!

Lol that's interesting.

Well of course, all these chart topping pop stars have big machines behind them, but the only one of those that did a 180 kinda-sorta similar to Miley (but I think less "extreme" with the forced sexyness and all) is Rihanna. I feel the same way about her and her public persona.

I wasn't trying to compare Miley with other popstars though. I was just saying that it seems like she thought: "oh, wait, I don't stand out enough to appeal to a bigger audience.. ****e, what should I do...", and then she or her mother decided to consult Larry Rudolph and his friends to see if she had any potential to become like the "greats", i.e. Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga...

It just feels like a businessplan rather than a natural phase, that's all I'm trying to say.

It should...that's basically what it is...

In a nutshell her albums weren't doing well, movies were tanking so she dropped her old manager, hired Rudolph and is going through this "transformation." This is not organic or of her own making, it's simply a business plan trying to make money and salvage a dying career.

There are some rumors and accusations about him. A lot of them came out when he managed O-Town. All in all he is *allegedly* not the most honorable guy when it comes to management or morals.

Yep...

Miley Cyrus Defends 'Wrecking Ball' Video, Covers Up in London

Miley Cyrus keeps a low profile with a blanket over her head while leaving her hotel and heading to the airport on Thursday morning (September 12) in London, England.

The 20-year-old actress/singer recently defended her controversial music video for her latest single “Wrecking Ball.”

“I think the video is much more [than that],” Miley told Elvis Duran on his radio show. “If people get past the point I make, and you actually look at me, you can tell I look more broken than even the song sounds.”

Miley added, “The song is a pop ballad that everyone can relate to; everyone has felt that feeling at some point. If people can take their minds off the obvious and go into their imagination and see what the video really means, it is so vulnerable.”

Word. It's like a copy/paste job. They all do it, it's the trope of "I wasn't really myself, I was forced to sing that song, I hated my image, this is now the real me." Such a load of tripe. They all sign on wanting to be famous and to sing/dance/act, they get to do it, make millions off it and then turn around and complain about how they had some good girl image forced on them when really, "I'm so real/hardcore/bad *****!" I'm sure there's some truth to these things, I just think it's become such a trot-out-the-standard-line. In a weird way I admire someone like Taylor Swift, she does her thing, hasn't denounced her earlier work, she's smart in that she gets that it takes a machine to make her.
