She made headlines for her very racy performance at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards.

And it seems Miley Cyrus just can't resist showing off her toned physique at every opportunity.

The 20-year-old is seen wearing a black crop top and tiny shorts in a new Instagram picture as she poses with rapper Wiz Khalifa backstage for Mike WiLL Made It's new music video for his song 23.

I miss the Miley of Hannah Montana. I realize we all grow up and people change and evolve but it's one thing to evolve and another to act like a complete jacka*s.

For example, her new song. Her voice sounds fine, but the lyrics and the video are ridiculous. I feel like you don't need gimmicks to be a success (re: Adele). But you have to find your niche.

^I think she needed to do a little something about her image, people do grow up. But she went from church girl to porn star. That's not right. She could have been less extreme about her make-over and just change a little bit of everything. But oh well...

However, I really disagree with people who say that Miley's display of sexuality is self-expression. It is hugely entangled with her desire to become a part of an "urban black" identity. Why her actions and performance at the VMAs was NOT an act of empowerment? Because she exploits the stereotypes of another community in the service of breaking out of her Disney image. She is so desperately trying to get away from that "good girl" persona, she catapulted to the other extreme (not just in sex, but in race). It's superficial, offensive and oppressive.

Her are actions that are MEANT to shock people, but had the completely opposite response. People are embarrassed for her because they don't see a fully grown confident woman expressing her sexuality. They see a desperate little girl, on a sloppy, rocky, road to self-discovery.

Nothing is wrong with choosing to be sexual, crass or both. But it IS wrong when those actions stem from a desire to be an "urban black girl" while lacking the true life experience and influences from that background.

She chose to make her body the focal point instead of her singing. If Adele can make millions while not being a size two, then we have proof that talent can prevail. Miley chose to shock instead of entertain. I think she has talent and I am disappointed with her.

The difference is that everyone you posted has talent. Their controversy challenged people and their boundaries. This did not. This is controversy cause she acted like a little kid attempting to be sexy. It was sad, really. No one will be buying Miley's album because of this...well, I hope they won't be.

However.. she has made me want to work harder and be a better person so I can be a good example for my neice (coming soon) and nephews and one day for my children.. because I will be damned if Miley is going to be a role model for anyone I am close to.

Honestly this goes for the majority of the music industry and now I am very careful what I expose myself to and while I have them around me, what I allow my nephews and soon to be neice be exposed to.

I honestly hope she is rescused or finds help sometime soon.. because if this is a precurser to where the music industry is headed.. you can count me out.

Sadly, I think the same thing can be said about the Kardashians and their influence on young girls.

I didnt watch the award show but have seen the clips on E News. All I saw was perversion in her performance. It was so disturbing. It is sad that this is what is being displayed for our children to watch. I grew up on MTV, and my, times have changed.
I have never been a Miley fan but I do see that there is something deeper that has taken over this poor child. My prayers go out to her because this is not going to have a good turn out. So so sad. My heart aches for her right now.
I heard someone say once that when you proclaim your love for Him (like she did when she first came out), the "enemy" will attack you, use you, embarrass you, then spit you out for the world to see you being ridiculed. After all he (the enemy) is out to hurt Him but he uses us to do so because He loves us so much.
