Michael Kors or Coach?

I think the trouble comes into play when folks are downright nasty with the way they put forth their opinion, of coarse NO ONE is going to like every brand and definitely people do have a right to say this isn't what i like etc.

I do know i have read some things that i just go ouch, really your almost taking it to far.. it's just a purse, don't like it don't buy it but some seem to feel it's a personal mission to almost make others feel badly for owning/liking a particular brand.

Totally equal opportunity brand buyer here.. i seem to like loads of things from different companies and even if nothing strikes me i have yet to hate any, there just purses i needn't bother to put that much energy into disliking it. :p

I think they are beautiful as well. Quilted leather can be used by more than one designer. I'm just saying this particular design I saw was very Chanel-esque .
Not only with the leather, but the chains as well. It's inspired, but not a knock-off, which I like.
Yes, I have heard that before too. Coach does the same thing and has a couple of MK 'inspired' bags I have noticed. I think it's a compliment when designers feed off of each other and I really don't see anything wrong with it. MK gets a lot of slack for it when many other designers do the same thing. I am saying this in general, not implicating anything that you said, I am sure you have heard this as well.

Here is the new Coach STANTON Satchel in "cross grain" leather, which is the same thing as the Saffiano. They just came out with it this year.

It is identical to the Michael Kors SUTTON Satchel in Saffiano leather. Even the style name sounds similar! lol! Has the exact same double zip top compartments on each side! All of these designers copy each other. Sad how only MK gets crucified for it.

To answer OP question: Coach.

If you don't like threads you can always not read them. That's an option you can control. You can't tell people what to post not post. Two or three (out of HUNDREDS) bashing threads for a super popular brand, in the GRAND scheme of things, isn't a lot at all. Every brand has those that don't like them. I'm not a MK fan because I don't like the designs (including the ones posted) but doesn't mean I'm bashing them. Just my preference.

MK probably doesn't give two flips that I don't like his stuff - I'm not his target audience. Idon't care that he doesn't care lol so we can both laugh to the bank - one less brand I have to spend money on for myself lol. And, it's nothing personal to anyone else's taste. I don't care what other people carry. If they are happy, so am I. My sister loves MK (she use to love Coach just as much!) and I've even bought her a few items. I'm glad she has something she loves because a bag that you love makes all the difference!

Other than that the OP probably don't think of comparing MK and Coach as apples to oranges. OP is probably thinking about pricing which is comparable.
+1 On this forum, people make negative remarks about all brands. MK lovers might not notice it because those brands are not their interest. Not liking something is not knocking someone's style or brand. We are all different. What we like or dislike does not need anybody's approval to determine if it's a valid reason.

Well, this the second or third thread about this and it is apparent that SOMEONE, perhaps the person that started, this, YET ANOTHER thread, to compare apples with oranges? ( Coach & Michael KORS) Has some sort of issue with Michael Kors. MK gets so much criticism and is it really necessary?? It is apparent MK is VERY popular and in demand, So what's the problem? Why does this keep coming up? As another poster stated, are we really going to do this again?? It's getting old and where does it get us? And why compare Coach to Michael Kors?? Like I said, this is like comparing apples to oranges. lo!! How come there are no threads comparing Louis Vuitton to Prada?? lol! This is just sillY!

I own both Coach and Michael Kors and appreciate the beauty in both of them.I will always love the Coach glove tanned leather and I am glad to hear they are going back to what made them famous in the first place. There is NOTHING finer than the Coach glove tanned leather. However, right now I am thrilled with MK because of his edgy designs. He really does have MANY of his own beautiful designs, that so many have never even seen!!. Just because a COUPLE of his bags are similar to other designers, do folks really think he has NONE of his own?? And don't ALL designers have some similar looking bags?? Here is a Michael Kors Lamb leather tote Please tell me who this is duplicating and is 500.00 really that cheap??
I love mk but I don't think this bag is the best example for people that hate mk ,it's pretty gaudy lol
I used to love coach for its clean lines but lately have been drawn to michael kors classy clean looking professional styles and saffiano, Love how sharp the saffiano looks. I think everyone should actually try a bag on and actually see how it looks and feels before knocking it.

Well, I never did go for the 'plain jane' type of styles or that fresh librarian look! lol! Definitely not for me. What some call gaudy, others call bling. Some of us are more toned down and others like to stand out. It all depends on your taste and personality. I like smooth and classic for going to the office, or to court for jury duty, but when I am headed to Vegas, it's bling all the way! lol! Fortunately, I go to Vegas more than I do jury duty! lol!

This is me, so perhaps this explains a bit?? lol!! Wearing my blue MK Astor Satchel Is great on the Harley. Look how the silver studs go with the studs on my sdddle bags. Somehow, I don't think a Selma would quite do the trick! lol! I suppose all that chrome is gaudy too, but it's staying!

I think both brands are great for the price. I admit that some of the bags are very similar to others, and I tend to stay away from those. I just got an MK Selma that I love, it's very classic & I really like it. I also have a Hamilton that I love. Personally Longchamp is my favorite brand, they have their own look for sure!

Well, maybe 'people' make negative comments about brands others love, but I don't and I never will. To each their own and we should all respect that. I keep my negative opinions to myself. I don't enjoy insulting others tastes and hurting their feelings. I think it is just plan bad manners and unnecessary. I may not compliment something I don't like, but I'm certainly not going to insult it. Gosh! What ever happened to good manners??. Is it really necessary to blurt out exactly how you feel about everything, regardless of who it might offend?? I just don't get it and you will never explain it me. I should have know better to even open this thread. I am going back to authenticating now, to HELP people not buy fakes. Asta!

Whoa, I don't understand the anger. I'm not belittling you for liking MK. I have been kind to you. I have tried to relate to you with my Chloe experience on this forum. Here's the thing, we can't tell others how to post. We can't tell people what they can like or dislike. Forums are mainly just opinions shared between people. We have to have confidence to like what we like without others affecting us.

No, I am just puzzled, not angry. You seem to understand others voicing negative opinions about things, and are trying to explain it to me. Sorry, but there's no explaining it to me. lol! Must be my Irish! lol! I appreciate you trying to explain it to me and yes you have been very nice and I enjoyed our conversation. I am just stating, I don't think it is necessary to bash brands that others love just because it's your opinion. There are several very popular handbag designer brands, that I wouldn't be caught dead wearing, but no one on this purse forum, will ever know who they are, and do you know why?? Please answer that question for me.

I don't come to this forum for opinions. I come here to learn, share and have fun. Find good sales on my favorite bags, see what is new, and last but not least. help others to not buy counterfeits. I am more of a 'fact' type of person. I prefer facts, not opinions. Opinions to me are irrelevant. I want knowledge and facts and that is what I come here for. I guess other use it for opinions?? You are stating that's what forums are all about?? God, I hope not, because you know what they say about opinions. Something about "everybody's got one?" lol!

You know what I'm done. I'm not here to argue with you. I love purses and that's why I'm here. You are directing your anger at the wrong person. Take your concern with the person who runs this forum.

Well I'm done too, because you are totally not reading something right . I have not said one unkind word to anyone.. If you want to take it that way, you're the one that is angry not me. I was hoping you'd answer my question, but I guess that's out of the question! lol! Have good night.

You were having a temper tantrum. You said, " I just don't get it and you will never explain it me. I should have know better to even open this thread. I am going back to authenticating now, to HELP people not buy fakes. Asta!" That does not sound happy to me. Nope I'm not angry; I'm just not here for a debate. For some reason you locked on to my opinion to try to force me to agree with you. Yes, let's have a good night. Sweet Dreams! :smile1:

Coach; say what you will, but I don't care for MK's constant knocking off of other brands.

+1

I would buy a Coach bag over a MK bag for this reason alone.

Coach just came out with this new STANTON SATCHEL this season, and the MK SUTTON Satchel has been out at least 5 years now.

I have always loved Coach, and I love MK too, but let's not single out MK for copying, when all of the designers are doing it, including Coach.
