See? I have never even looked at Chloe because I am so wrapped up in MK right now, but I won't knock what I haven't seen. What's the point? lol! I have heard of them and I am sure they some beautiful bags, or the name wouldn't even ring a bell. I will have to check them out some time after I get the next 7 bags I want from MK! lol!

People should buy what they love and ignore the naysayers. Not every brand is for everybody and that's OK. I want people be free to be themselves and not told how to think. Non-favorable opinions are just opinions that can change at any moment like the wind. I listen to all opinions because it's fascinating but I love mines the most, don't we all.
MK all the way. I have only one Coach piece from years ago, a small wrist bag, that I use for errands.
I actually like that MK is inspired by other designers. I liked a quilted one with a chain strap from awhile back. Also a Birkin inspired bag. I think they are great for younger people (or those without a huge budget) who can't spend 6K+ on bags.
I used to really like Coach but feel like it's played out. I'm also not fond of their leather.. I think it's overpriced for the quality.

Thanks. I think that if people saw more of the non saffiano/Totes/Logos that would go a long way to changing the perception of the brand.
I just hate the big chunky gold chains I see a lot of MK bags have.

Tell me more about this, please. . Did Michael Kors get sued by anyone for stealing a handbag design? Did he knowingly steal that design, or was it a coincidence / accident? I mean how many different designs of a handbag can there be, really? And do you really think other designers don't bounce off of each other?
And it shows how different we all are, as those chunky chain designs are some of my favorites! lol! And I'll tell you who else really loves them, is the guys. I get more compliments from men, when I wear my chained totes, than on any other bags I've ever worn, which is unusual, because most men could care less about your purse, including my husband. I even had one come up to me in the check out line, and ask me where I got my bag because he wanted to get one for his wife and specifically stated how sharp looking the chains are. My husband loves them too and asks why I am not wearing his favorite, which is the chain tote I showed a couple of posts back. They are the first and only bags I ever got reactions from men, as it's usually only women that comment on your bags. I find that to be interesting. Those chunky chains also make good weapons! lol!! But seriously, I love how they set off my jewelry.
And of course everyone isn't going to like every brand or design. But why keep starting threads about it?? This MK bashing is getting really old. It shows no respect for others that do love them and it really isn't necessary. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing some really famous designer brands, that I won't mention, so as not insult others tastes and feelings. I have said nice things about bags I wouldn't wear, such as "nice color" or "look at all those pockets" just to say something nice. You can always find something nice to say and leave the negative out. Although I have made some negative comments about saffiano leather, and I really shouldn't, since so many love it and I am going to work on that.
Isn't that what we're here for, on the TPF? To have FUN and share ideas, sales, etc.?? Are we really here to insult others tastes and bash certain designers?? My Mom always told growing up, "if you don't have something nice to say, than keep your mouth shut, young lady" lol! That is just one of many things she taught me, that stuck with me my whole life. Smart woman, my Mom. My other favorite from her is "Where this is a will, there is a way" . She had so many good one liners like that. I miss her so much!

I don't see why quilted leather can't be used by more than one designer? lol! Is that really copying? If that is the case, than no other designers should be able to use leather at all, except for the first one to make a handbag out of leather! lol! This is all getting too technical and I think people are just looking for the negative, rather focusing on the positive, which is typical. .MK's quillted lamb leather bags are beautiful!

Wow! That's really strange. My husband could care less about any designers other than Harley Davidson and Dodge! lol! He doesn't even know what brand my chained totes are, just that he likes the bag. I hope you both hating Michael Kors so much, and putting it in writing, makes you happy.
I'm sorry you if you are offended others don't like the MK brand. I wasn't attacking you (it appears you think I did). Someone asked for opinions so I stated mine. There is nothing wrong with having an opinion on a bag.

If you don't like threads you can always not read them. That's an option you can control. You can't tell people what to post not post. Two or three (out of HUNDREDS) bashing threads for a super popular brand, in the GRAND scheme of things, isn't a lot at all. Every brand has those that don't like them. I'm not a MK fan because I don't like the designs (including the ones posted) but doesn't mean I'm bashing them. Just my preference.
MK probably doesn't give two flips that I don't like his stuff - I'm not his target audience. Idon't care that he doesn't care lol so we can both laugh to the bank - one less brand I have to spend money on for myself lol. And, it's nothing personal to anyone else's taste. I don't care what other people carry. If they are happy, so am I. My sister loves MK (she use to love Coach just as much!) and I've even bought her a few items. I'm glad she has something she loves because a bag that you love makes all the difference!
Other than that the OP probably don't think of comparing MK and Coach as apples to oranges. OP is probably thinking about pricing which is comparable.

Well, we just hear so much of it, and it gets old. If pricing is the same basically, and that is ones price range, why not just get what you like? I never needed anyone to tell me what I like. I know what I like and I buy it! I really think these types of posts cause debating, lol! I guess I'll go start a post about Louis Vuitton and Prada and see what happens! Lol! Trust me there are already way more than three LV threads like this. The Gucci vs LV or LV vs Chanel threads get heated and brutal with responses from the masses. Some even get locked. This thread is only three pages long with you having most of the posts lol so it really isn't that bad. I'm sure MK is thinking any discussion is better than none. Keeps his brand relevant.

Good point! And pretty much my point exactly. These are the kind of threads that would end up getting locked, so why start them?? I am just posting a lot of pics mostly, so others can see some of MKs other beautiful leather bags that many have never seen. . There is a reason he is so popular, just like Coach. I love BOTH of them and own quite a few of each. They are actually my two favorite designers, so you won't hear me saying I 'hate' either one of them. They both have some of the best leather bags on the market and are both priced quite reasonably, I just look for styles they make that I find attractive, and go for it!
I will say, that they both made mistakes with setting up outlets, it cheapened their brands and this affected both companies in a bad way. Coach has learned from this and is doing something about it. I know they closed over 75? outlets in the United States alone. I predict MK will be doing the same in a few years. What many don't know about MK is his luxury designs that run in the thousands and are worn by many movie stars and models. I have even heard people state that MK would never be counterfeited because they are too cheap of a design, when in fact, as an authenticator here, I can tell you we see so many fake MKs, it's awful! .
Here is one of his bags from his luxury line that retails for $9000.00!
The Miranda Crocodile Large tote. It is made of REAL crocodile! And you can be sure, there are many fakes made of not just this one, but many others. In fact, it is his cheaper bags from the saffiano styles , that get counterfeited the most! Pricing really has nothing to do with counterfeiting. Do you know they even make FAKE LEVI's jeans?? Popularity is what counterfeiters go by, not pricing.

I think they are beautiful as well. Quilted leather can be used by more than one designer. I'm just saying this particular design I saw was very Chanel-esque .
Not only with the leather, but the chains as well. It's inspired, but not a knock-off, which I like.
