Love your post.

I find this so sad and shocking and find the parallels between the death of Elvia Presley and MJ very eerie -- both died relatively young of massive heart attacks. Both were pop stars and legends during their generation. Their deaths were very shocking and unexpected and during a time when they were trying to make a "comeback."

While I can't say I was a HUGE MJ fan or idolized him, I did respect him as a musician and truly believe he deserves his place in music history. I grew up with his music, memorizing every step of Beat It and Thriller (when the Movie 13 Going on 30 came out, I felt like it was made about me & my friends!!)

What is even more shocking and has left me speachless is the fact that TWO icons of my generation passed today -- Both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson reached their hights of their careers while I was growing up and I watched and was a fan of both of them during the same time period.

I cannot believe the word has lost TWO Legends today and I mourn the loss of both of them -- I guess I now understand my parent's reaction and all the "grown ups" around me when Elvis Presely died.

RIP MJ -- I hope you find more peace in death that you ever recd in life!:heart:

His life was so controversial. However, I think that most people really and truly believed that he was just a man who wanted to remain childlike and who loved children and wanted them to remain innocent and carefree. This is who I personally believed him to be. He was and will always be a legend. Michael seemed troubled in many way, but at the heart of it, he was an amazing artist who touched so many lives and changed the world of music forever. He will truly be missed.
