Marion Cotillard To Play Lady Macbeth Opposite Michael Fassbender
Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard has boarded See-Saw Films’ Macbeth, to be directed by Snowtown‘s Justin Kurzel. Natalie Portman had previously been attached to play the scheming Lady Macbeth opposite Michael Fassbender as the iconic eponymous antihero. Fassbender is still in the mix.
^ i think marion is a good actress but she is miscast in a lot of her english-speaking roles.
maybe michael is one of those men who has a woman on every continent.

LOL! Marion is a fabulous actress in French; I've never been overwhelmed by her in English speaking roles.
Maybe Michael is one of those men who has a woman on every continent.
^ I really wonder if anyone ever turns him down. Women (and men) are dying to fvck him.

I agree. For whatever reason she keeps getting cast in English-speaking roles that she does not do justice.
ah well either way she isn't much convincing in English speaking roles...but yeah since her Oscar she has been getting steady work and perhaps because she is pretty and all and they wanted a French darling rose in Hollywood..? Just a theory.Hahaha, funniest scene in the movie I lol'd the first time I saw it, sorry Marion, I love you but...
It's a mystery. Isn't her agent the super powerful and influential Hylda Queally? Maybe it's a language barrier thing.
Although French actors often have a different way of working and a different working relationship with directors than English/American actors do perhaps she hasn't been able to gel with the directors she's worked with.
