Rizzle Kicks have revealed that Shame star Michael Fassbender has asked them to DJ at one of his parties.
The Hollywood actor approached the 'Traveller's Chant' duo after seeing them DJ at a recent event in London.
Rizzle Kicks' Harley Alexander-Sule told the Sun: "He came up afterwards to tell us that he really loved our set.
"We didn't clock who he was until later. He was a really nice guy and he gave us his email address and said he'd really love us to DJ at one of his parties.
"He told us he's bad with emails but we haven't actually dropped him a line yet as he's obviously very busy."

OMG - Annabel and fandora - Am totally amazed by the amount of money that is being generated by romance or female orientated literature. Its huge and growing, yet people in the film/book industries act so surprised and thenthere are articles but they never go into enough depth. It must show that women are not being served in terms of their experiences and, er, 'desires'...
Now that I know about fanfiction, I saw 'Fifty etc' which nb one novel (!) on amazon and the nytimes booklist - that is super interesting. And also now that I saw what you write about that must be really good for you Annabel...all those Atlanta people will be rushing off to see Shame because they read New-Mormonporn at the Oprah bookclubs...![]()
50 Shades of Grey just got a movie deal so we'll see how they pull that one off
Another tease:
Martin Scorsese gets back on 'The Wolf Of Wall Street' with Leonardo DiCaprio and Michael Fassbender. Shooting Stars In August.
Well, it looks like Martin Scorsese's passion project "Silence" will have to keep waiting. Another film, which has been in the works for a while, is now on track to shoot later this year.
Deadline reports that Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio will team up for movie number five, The Wolf of Wall Street. The project first surfaced in 2007, with Scorsese at the helm and "Boardwalk Empire" and The Sopranos scribe Terence Winter penning the script, with DiCaprio in the leading role. But a studio tug-of-war for the project between Warner Bros. and Paramount eventually stalled things, until the fall of 2009 when it was revealed Ridley Scott was circling the directors chair. Then, about a year ago, it was reported that the project was back in the hands of Scorsese who was eyeing it for this next movie after Hugo Cabret. Indeed, the helmer is now moving forward with the film.
Red Granite Pictures picked up the rights last spring, and it's a pretty cracker jack tale. Based on the memoir by Jordan Belfort and his experiences on the job in the '80s and '90s, The Wolf of Wall Street centers on a drug/sex/alcohol addicted New York stockbroker who refuses to cooperate in a large securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street, the corporate banking world and mob infiltration. So yeah, that undoubtedly resonates in today's current economic climate. It should also be noted that Michael Fassbender told the Hollywood Reporter back in January that he had to been talking to Scorsese about a possible film. Was it The Wolf of Wall Street? For now, Fassy's calendar is pretty full, making his participation in this project (if that's what it is) a tight squeeze, but we'll see.
Anyway, no distributor is yet on board, but the rights to 'The Wolf' will likely be up for grabs at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The film will shoot in August. No word on what happened with "Silence" but we presume it's on the backburner for now. That picture, a drama centering on 17th century Jesuit priests, is likely much, much harder to finance and maybe scheduling was a concern for proposed stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Benicio Del Toro and Gael Garcia Bernal (though who knows if they are still attached at this point). But as far as runner-up prizes go, we're not complaining.
Anyone else notice that 'Twelve Years A Slave' is no longer on Michael's IMDB filmography? It's also not on Steve's or Chiwitel's anymore either.![]()
Solomon Northup gaining new attention:
Fort Edward Historian Paul McCarty hopes Hollywood gets the details right in the latest dramatization of the story of Solomon Northup, a free black man that was kidnapped from the streets of Saratoga Springs and sold into slavery in 1842."Hopefully, this time, he comes back to Glens Falls. That would be nice," McCarty said. A previous movie about Northup filmed about 30 years ago depicted Northup returning to Saratoga Springs, the city where he was captured, after being freed from slavery in Louisiana, McCarty said. Northup actually returned to Glens Falls, where his wife, Ann Hampton Northup, had been living, McCarty said.
Hollywood has the chance to get that detail right in a new movie from Plan B Entertainment Inc., a production company that Brad Pitt partly owns. The movie, to be called Twelve Years a Slave the same title as Northup's autobiography, is in the pre-production phase, said Matt Flanders, a spokesman for Plan B Entertainment. It is not yet known exactly when or where the movie will be filmed. Those type of decisions will be made once the movie receives financing, Flanders said. Entertainment websites have reported various actors slated for roles, but no contracts have been signed, he said. Steve McQueen, not the same McQueen as the late, famous actor, and John Ridley wrote the screenplay. McCarty said it's great that a new movie is being made because it will draw attention to a significant figure in regional history. "I think the fact that basically the tri-county area can lay claim to Solomon Northup is pretty significant," he said. Northup and his wife lived from 1829 to 1832 in the home that is now part of the Old Fort House Museum campus on Broadway in Fort Edward. McCarty said one of the fascinating details of Northup's story centers around when Henry B. Northup of Hudson Falls secured legal papers and testimonies proving that Solomon Northup was a free person and should be released from slavery. Henry B. Northup traveled to Washington, D.C. and gained assistance from U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Nelson, who was born in Hebron in 1792. As children, Henry B. Northup and Samuel Nelson lived on farms a few miles apart in Hebron, McCarty said. "Those are the things that interest us as historians. But, you know, they probably won't even be touched upon which is the way of Hollywood," he said.
