Enjoy Shame. Let us know what you think and don't be late or you'll miss out. :graucho:
I loved it, so did my friend:D He instantly fell in love with him and appreciated his performance. I don't want to give any spoilers, brilliant and brave performances from Mulligan and Fassy. What hit me most about the film was their loneliness. He cries for help (not loudly) which we can feel through the film but there is no one to give him a hand. He has a sister (who is more ****ed up than him obviously and a needy type) to contend with as she moves in with him. It is a mirror how we are powerless over our bodies sometimes. Shame is not for everyone as it is complex, challenging and emotionally devastating.

So whenever I have nothing else to do, I've been catching up on MF's TV work. I didn't realize that he's worked with Helen McRory (amazing stage actress, Damien Lewis's wife, was in Hugo this year and played Narcissa Malfoy in Harry Potter) at least three times.

Anyway, they were in a ****ty movie called 'Carla' together. What's really funny is that his character basically causes two women to get into the nastiest ***** fight ever. Literally, McRory's character is like "He's mine!" and "Don't fob me off on Henry Ian Cusick's character!" But she has to settle for Cusick anyway & then she sabotages the other woman's attempt to get laid by MF. Most unintentionally funny **** ever.

He worked with Damian Lewis in Band of Brothers, what an amazing actor. I love Homeland which is one of the best things on TV. So he knows both of them.

Yes I remembered it, too. Here it is;

"When I started my career, I was all full of doubts and anxieties - I took script at home and at night wondering "do I need this?" I was afraid to play badly. Once I starred in a movie with Helen McCrory - with this stunning actress - and was annoyed with myself. And then I noticed Helen, who in a break laughed and chatted with someone and then when the break is over, picked up, and easily entered the frame, where the script has arranged stir and lost consciousness. I thought, "How is it cool - to be able to easily switch like this." And since then I began to slowly learn it. I realized that the more I immersed into the role, the more it affects my acting, but this has not always a positive result. Sometimes it's better to let the situation to the screen felt no prior preparation. And when I learned this, began surprises - I began to reveal my characters from an unexpected direction, thus making them much more interesting. After all, in fact, there are many ways to approach and open the same door. "

Who Wouldn’t Want to Talk to Eliza Coupe?

If you’ve been paying attention lately, then you know who Eliza Coupe is. And if for some reason you don’t, well, get ready, because she’s about to kick you in the face. Hard. She would love that. No, really, she would. But only if you found it as amusing as she did… or really, even if you didn’t. Coupe, who stars in the hit TV show, Happy Endings and first stole your hearts as Dr. Jo Mahoney in Scrubs, has been blowing up the blogosphere recently with her hilarious web series “Why Won’t You Talk to Me?” The series is based around her relationship with Michael Fassbender, who for some reason just won’t talk to her. Maybe it’s because it’s actually Fassbender’s cutout? ChinaShop caught up with Coupe on the set of Happy Endings and she and co-creator Briana Venskus explained how the project happened and how close they really have become with Fassbender.

It’s clear that Coupe doesn’t take herself seriously at all and is really just here to have a good time. If that makes you laugh, fantastic. She’s sitting in her trailer looking at a magazine cutout of Michael Fassbender and having a fully engaged one-sided, slightly neurotic conversation with him, completely distraught at why he won’t talk to her. The tears start to well. Welcome to the world of “Why Won’t You Talk To Me?” The humor is at times borderline uncomfortable: you really aren’t sure if Coupe is serious or not. Actresses are supposed to be crazy, right?
Coupe says the whole thing started by accident. “I walked into my trailer one morning and there were pictures of Michael Fassbender all over my trailer that Brie (Venskus) had put up. But they were hidden, so I didn’t see them at first. Then I opened my fridge, and there’s the picture we’ve been using and it said, ‘Mmm, protein balls.’” Coupe laughs, “And then I go into my bathroom, and there is another picture of him over the toilet and another on my mirror, and they all said hilarious things.”

Coupe and Venskus had a laugh over the trailer photo bomb and thought it might be funny to shoot a promo video for Happy Endings. When they posted the first Fassy video, they had no idea it was going to get 10,000 plays right off the bat. What started as one promo video quickly turned into something bigger. So they filmed more webisodes, and it took on a life of its own. There is no script, and they film between takes on Happy Endings. Venskus, who is a PA for the series, says, “Eliza thinks of really weird things, and then I just tell her to do something else that’s really weird, and then she does that, and somehow it works.” Obviously, it’s working since their viewership grows every week.

With all of the time the two of them are spending with Fassy’s cutout, it’s no wonder he’s become like a weird imaginary friend. Venskus explained how she even took him with her on a recent trip to NYC. “He rode the subway with me, I had him pose in pictures in various places around the city, it was awesome.” And Coupe explains how their on-screen romance really wears on her, “I get very emotional at times. I look at him and just honestly think, ‘Why won’t you talk to me?’ Clearly a deep rooted issue.
The producers and other actors on the show had no idea any of this was going on until the videos went viral. Coupe laughs, “They would come up to us and just say, ‘When did you do all of this?’” Venskus would film Coupe in between set-ups on Happy Endings and then edit the clips together. “She’s a wizard,” says Coupe. “We fired off, like, four of them in a week. I mean, we would shoot something, I would run to set, shoot a take, she would have cut something, I’d run and take a look, move something around, go to hair and makeup, she’d have another edit, I’d check again, go shootHappy Endings, we’d finalize, and that’s how it went. It was crazy, but it kept us sane during the long shoot days week after week at work. It’s so much fun.” And of course the producers love it.

I would like to see him with a woman who is not an actress, has her own career yet is very supportive of his, not looking to marry and have children right away. Of course she would be pretty, but not intimidatingly beautiful and takes care of herself without starving herself to look good.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens between Fassy and Nicole. I personally think he'll end up with someone in the entertainment industry just because most actors do.

I agree. It's reductive to say that actors end up with other actors just because that's who they meet. It happens for a number of reasons. There's a whole lifestyle, business, and social culture surrounding the entertainment industry. Dating/marrying a partner who understands and can navigate that lifestyle and culture is a massive benefit. And actors/musicians/directors have the flexible schedules to compromise on who works when (ex: Angelina and Brad never work at the same time).

Brad and Angie's relationship is 6+ years strong, a lifetime by hollywood standards! Hopefully whoever it is, they're both grounded enough to commit for the long-haul. I really hope he doesn't turn into a Clooney type. Everything about that man annoys me!

I figured if anyone would know this, it's one of ya'll....

Can anyone who saw Fish Tank tell me what Mia's mother said (towards the end of the movie, i'm trying to avoid spoiling it)....something about an abortion appointment?

I'm guessing you're talking about what Mia's mom told her before she ran away with that boy, if so here you go :smile1:
Mia's Mom: "Did I ever tell you I nearly had you aborted? I even made the appointment and all. "
