I liked Portman in Black Swan, but she was horrible in No Strings Attached and Thor. Jessica Chastain will probably be too busy and I don't thing they'll cast 2 gingers for the leads. I haven't been too impressed by Chastain. She was good in The Help and in The Tree Of Life, but not that impressive in Coriolanus and The Debt. Of course that is my personal opinion. ;)

OMG I thought that No Strings movie was not good, wasted talent there (not Kutcher he was as expected)!
Like to see Coriolanus, its coming here in festival but will wait for when its open release.

I'm new here and I'm finding this board to be quite impressive. So refreshing to find so many objective opinions about Michael Fassbender. I have a weekend off from work so I will work my way through all threads Fassbender. Handbags, shoes and a place to read all about my la douleur exquise. I think I may have found heaven!

Phew so many pages and new faces in this thread :woohoo:

:welcome2: newbies and have fun posting! :flowers:

I see there was a rumor about Natalie Portman being part of The Counselor. Thank God that was just a rumor! I honestly fail to see what is so interesting and exciting about her acting in general, so I'm glad she won't be part of the cast. I just hope that Scott and producers go for talent and not just for big names in order to please studio bosses.

While I may have been away from Michael's thread and TPF, there was no shortage of him on TV(Hex) and in cinema(Jane Eyre and ADM). ;) After seeing ADM for the second time, it's true that perfect ingredients don't make necessarily a perfect cake. Sigh!

In all of Atlanta, which is a pretty big metropolis, Shame only showed at one dinky hipster theater in Buckhead, which is indicative of the conservative religious values around here. Many of my friends would have been horrified to even know I went to see it!

Funny aside, the day I went, the audience was about 85% gay men, 15% other.[/QUOTE]
I used to live in New York before moving to Atlanta so you could imagine my disappointment once again when a movie I so desperately wanted to see was only playing in one theater. It was for that very reason I did not go to see it. I've already pre-ordered my copy on Amazon and have it on my Netflix queue. I am quite content keeping all things Fassbender to myself because it's something I've done for many years. However, it is nice to be able to share all things Fassbender with like minded individuals.

Kutcher wasn't even half bad in it. He just plays himself most of the time. Coriolanus is fabulous. Redgrave and Fiennes are superb and Butler is really good as well. It's a real shame that the Weinstein brothers buried this film in favour of the other Oscar hopefuls. It should have received a lot more praise and recognition.

Welcome to the board!! It's a pity you haven't seen Shame in the cinema. It really is a beautiful film to watch on a large screen.

I haven't seen this quote before. Judi Dench on MF:

Any guesses on what she means by anarchic? We know he's a prankster...that was my first thought.

Maybe she means it in a sense that he seems (IMO) willing to flout the status quo and go out on a limb. Working with Steve McQueen, doing nudity or getting super skinny for Hunger, taking a wide variety of film roles and genres. I know too that he's talked before about surprising his costars when he's acting so things aren't "boring". that seems like his modus operandi on set.

Or maybe she's talking about how he is when he's on the dance floor.

I think it is probably this and the world is his dance floor.

I love this pic Ejm! Great find.

Very handsome indeed.

Here's another great pic courtesy of fassbender the ginger:

Blue eyes...baby's got blue eyes.

His eyes are amazing in pictures, but in real life they're not very special.
I think different types of light bring out his eyes and he knows how to use them. What do you think?

He has what I call soulful eyes. You see a lot more going on behind those eyes. I'm always wondering what he's thinking when I look at his eyes in different pictures. His eyes appear more green than blue to me. Again, it may have something to do with the lighting.
