I liked Portman in Black Swan, but she was horrible in No Strings Attached and Thor. Jessica Chastain will probably be too busy and I don't thing they'll cast 2 gingers for the leads. I haven't been too impressed by Chastain. She was good in The Help and in The Tree Of Life, but not that impressive in Coriolanus and The Debt. Of course that is my personal opinion. ;)

Jessica could always dye her hair blonde like in the Help. I haven't seen Coriolanus or The Debt so you may be right.

The funny thing is that I used to love Natalie Portman until Black Swan (go figure huh) because she gives the same avg performance. if you're a decent enough actress of course you'll shine when everything else is good (i.e directing, score, cinematography, writing e.t.c). I honesty think she got the Oscar for her hard preparation for the role but not for her performance. Thor didn't help her case either for me lol

:D Welcome new comers abttjj_2610 and VeryHappyOne. I was just a new comer a month ago but now I feel I have been here for a long time. Such a nice board with classy ladies.:D

Finally I'm going to see Shame tonight. One of my friends (who is also gay) offered me a ride to the nearest town which Shame is shown. It will take us two hours to get there but I'm sure it will worth. And also my friend will be very happy to be introduced Fassy and his famous asset. Kudos to me :worthy:

Happy Fassy Friday :smile1::wlae:

Welcome to those who joined the thread! The more, the merrier (and naughtier) :D!

Portman for Laura sounds meh (unless Michael and her have tons of chemistry together). I'd have preferred Rosemarie DeWitt, Rose Byrne or Jessica Chastain, but Ridley seems to be gunning for the big known A-list guns for the supporting cast. Malkina's probably the trickiest to cast. I also think Eva Green would be perfect for the role. Or Paz de la Huerta ... (kidding :laugh: she's a hot mess, omit the hot).

Oh gosh anyone but Paz that woman always looks like she's in need of a good bath. I'd love to see Mia Maestro in the role.

I got my copy today too! I'll be watching it tonight for the first time.

I really do think he might attend WonderCon on the 17th. Yahoo! is doing a live streaming broadcast interview with him and Charlize that day. It would make sense that they'd be doing a a bunch of press on the same day.

I certainly hope so. Bought my ticket last week and going regardless of confirmation. Just in case.

ETA: He may just be there as the time listed on that Yahoo announcement is 4:30 a.m. Australia time, which I believe is 1:30 p.m. my time. And that happens to be the time the event starts, according to my WonderCon schedule. But you never know.

damn...of course the one year they move it to southern California I'm in SF :pout:
...I wonder if I can find peeps to bum a ride with...a long drive but it'd be so worth it just to catch a glimpse of Fassy in all his ginge glory!!

Oh, I hope Prometheus is Alien movie good.

Thanks abttjj for the link to The Counselor - I think I am extra critical because I tried to finish a couple of the novels it was all so hypermale, overrated, violent nonrevisionist fiction - obv just never got into the writing! For myself, one of the best things in NCFOM was the messy sweet performance of Kelly MacDonald, its interesting that they think this is a similiar small pivotel role. But the whole ambivalent madonna/whore thing about McCormac still bugs me, bring on more brit kitchen sink drama's if you want melodrama imo :-)

Hola, new people!
I giggled at 'classy', mebbe dirty naughty...

Wow, driving two hours is good commitment to film! To all those watching Jane Eyre or Shame have fun. For sure, Shame is exactly like at millennial version of J.E with modernist interiors instead of the moors and Brandon as perfect combination of Bertha/Rochie.;) Bertha's all oversexed Carribean exotie-hottie in a problematic reln with her whiny brother Richie Mason and Jane is a mix of Marianne and Brandon's annoying killyjoy conscience. (for those yet to see either movie, joking x)
