I love all these actresses wanting to work with Michael now :p
What I love is how they all go out of their way to mention that they only noticed his acting in shame. While his acting was superb...cmon gurrrls, why you lying?

I wouldn't mind 'working' with him either and I'm not even an actress. :graucho:
They obviously know about his habit of hooking up with women on the set.
haha so true

It will be interesting to see if McQueen changes his approach to filming 12 Years a Slave. I'm not sure his quiet artsy style will be as effective in telling a story about slavery. The audience can't be left to wonder about the background of the characters and what's going on in the narrative. I'm looking foward to this film.
ITA. I guess we will have to wait and see. Although, I think I read somewhere about Steve mentioning that American audiences wouldn't be able to handle the film. Regardless, we can assume it will be raw & unapologetic. I'm looking forward to it. I just hope he cements the story otherwise audiences will leave the theater confused.

LOL!! She should have taken her chance with him 2 years ago. Now he's shown the world his peen and there's a lot more competition from the other starlets. Missed opportunity, Grainger!

MICHAEL FASSBENDER IS IN OUR SHOWROOM!

I think he needs some fashion help for red carpet events. His casual style is fine.

Woo! Thank the heavens! I just need for four things to happen.

1. He gets rid of those black shoes that he wears everywhere.

2. He gets rid of the skinny-minny jeans. Your junk is too much for those things, Michael. Think of what it's doing to the boys! Don't ruin them before I get to them. Plus, they emphasize his skinniness.

3. He stops wearing those scoop-neck tee shirts. Ick!

4. He stops wearing suit jackets with tee shirts. Jackets with tees are fine but not the jacket to the suit you just wore the previous night. No tees with suit jackets.

Oh, one more thing. GET BETTER FITTING SUITS.

He can wear as much leather and vintage tees as he wants. But basically, he needs to ditch this look:

I feel I've criticized him too much so I'll list the things I do like about his fashion choices.

His grandfather's newsboy cap. I love how he looks in it! I like his vintage tees and even the jacket with the tee idea - just not the suit jacket. The leather jacket, though, he could use a couple more. The man looks fan-f*cking-tastic in a suit. He just needs better fitted ones. I like the pea coat look and also dress shirt and jeans look.

And also he should stop wearing three-piece suits (especially grey), I think that kind of suit makes him look older.

So last night my male friend and I went to a random Steve McQueen double feature of 'Shame' and 'Hunger' at this theater in the Fairfax district. Anyway, it was my fifth time seeing 'Shame' and the first time I'd seen it with a male. All of the other times, I saw it with female friends - except for the first time when I saw it alone. Let me just say that last night was the most comfortable I've ever been (except for the 1st time) while watching that movie. I just felt like he better understood it than my female counterparts did.

There was no commenting or laughing during any "uncomfortable" scenes, no unwarranted criticism or ridiculous questions afterward. We even had a friendly debate about which movie was better. He chose 'Shame' but I thought that Fassbender's performance in 'Hunger' was better. I don't know... I guess I was just really disappointed in how my women friends reacted to the movie. It's one thing to not like it (which they claimed they did, by the way!). But you should be mature enough to deal with the subject matter and to have a fair discussion about it. And we're talking about women in their late 20's and 30's, not teenagers. Ugh! Anyone else have any especially good or bad experiences with friends while watching the movie.

Nice post for International Women's Day, huh?

I kind of knew my friends would react that way. My husband would have too, so I went to see it alone.

In all of Atlanta, which is a pretty big metropolis, Shame only showed at one dinky hipster theater in Buckhead, which is indicative of the conservative religious values around here. Many of my friends would have been horrified to even know I went to see it!

Funny aside, the day I went, the audience was about 85% gay men, 15% other.
