I love this stuff:
Samantha Morton on MF-
Which living person do you most admire, and why? Harry apart, Michael Fassbender, because his acting is beyond my comprehension and I find him absolutely fearless and inspirational.
She's such an incredible actress. I'd love to see them work together.

Samantha Morton is flawless herself. Such an underestimated actress.
Hmmm... I could have sworn it was a specific sick+feet reference, from another tweeter account...but can't find it. Then again I could have read it wrong.
Nice find! It would make for a fine IMDB headshot.
I know, you'd think that from the body language, right? But Romola actually said pretty nice things about him, so I don't think there was bad blood between them at all (well, from her part, anyway) -
i cannot wait to see him play Magneto in the next X-men film....really who is this guy? He came out of nowhere with the Magneto performance really. Some say he was better than Ian Mckellan what do you think?
^I also really liked Michael as the younger Magneto I thought he nailed it.
ITA with the Samantha Morton love, hear she's not easy on set (according to friends but really all actors, pain in the neck). She's fearless and a similiar arthouse trajectory as Fassbender in terms of characters on the edge but somehow cold and numbed. She and Tilda Swinton have faces I like to watch.Samantha Morton is flawless herself. Such an underestimated actress.
Just came back from watching Project X with a girlfriend. Absolutely crazy!
Did a huge amount of flying recently... airplane movies seen
Senna: amazing documentary even tho' completely do not care about cars/racing/top gearreally award worthy
Wim Wenders - Pina: beautiful, wenders on form
My week with Marilyn - pedestrian pic but Michelle was great to watch
Drive: am I the only one with thinks that whole thing was too slow?
Tinke, Tailer etc: Oldman was smazing - robbed of a bafta!
Margin Call: not as amazing as it could be but still a thoughtful v.good film, spend too much time with bankers, so this film is fun.
Crazy, stupid, love: Emma and Steve Carrell are adorable in this, Golsing abs act fpr him
Jane Eyre: skimmed this, not as good as first showing. Airless, I think the script was far too truncated, missed the poetry of Bronte, also Fassbender lit too much like a skull/skinny lollipop-head at times?
X-Men: skimmed this again, hotness! Ganz german hotness too, bonus!!! Also January Jones not as painful second viewing, her boobies can act, huh!
other films unable to finish - Footloose, WTF?; Moneyball, Jonah best thing about it;
Gay londonboys only want to talk about stalking phillip seymour hoffman and going to Highgate because of Downtown Alley.
The Hong Kong film festival starts soon. (where I live now) Shame is sold out - good job. Booked to see some v.good docos + films. The huge punchline is that the only hollywd celeb flying in is Keanu Reeves, he is booked to give a master class?! I mean dude can't act...we should be giving him a master class, everyone is joking about this.
Ann Hui's actress Deanie Yip (she won best actress in Venice which was kinda overshadowed by Michael's showy best actor win. My partner knows Hui, the director, so I am looking forward to this screening the most.
I know no one who has seen it (i'm assuming you mean the re-make). I'm old enough to remember the original and I have a lot of love for it. So I have no intention of watching the new one. Tell me, what was so "WTF?" about the new one? I never even bothered to read the reviews.
I noticed that too when I saw it. No Fassy to the rescue. He was probably thinking....there's no way in hell I'm messing up my pretty face to rescue, you of all people, from a camel. Like everyone said, they had the worst chemistry. I also noticed that they were never photographed standing next to each other. There's always someone else in between them. It could be nothing. Usually his co-stars rave about him but we haven't heard a peep from Romala. It was a long time ago. If I would her, I wouldn't comment either and hope this film gets buried and forgotten.
Yes the new one, I guess I am so much older than most of y'kids (similiar age as Fassbender, but I think look younger then him...I kid, I kid!). Remember wtaching the first one and Kevin Bacon in FootlooseOriginal/X-men still good at inhabiting roles. He can actually act, whether a jeggings or as villian!!
But new Footloose is ridic, main guy has zero screen presence, the love interest is also less than the bromance. Remake hell![]()
Ah...well then I'll probably never watch it. Not even when it comes on cable. I get upset when remakes of my favorite movies turn out to be horrible.
Yes!
Oh, and don't worry. You're not the only one who can remember the 80's with fondness around here. Also, I would hope that most people Fassy's age look younger than he does.
Just one more reason why smoking is bad for you.
Did anyone else notice this? It's a fair enough assessment, and he's criticizing the press more than he is MF/McQueen, but there is something a little off-putting about this. Like sour grapes that ADM didn't get more attention? I also think it's a little ironic because I don't think Viggo has made any "groundbreaking" films himself. Unless you count LOTR for the technical achievement. Eastern Promises and A History of Violence are really excellent films by a groundbreaking director, but they aren't groundbreaking in and of themselves. And seriously, he hadn't achieved nearly as much by the time he was 35 as Michael has already.
