A tad more from the Nicole/Michael spot from yesterday.
Sarah Böttcher ‏@Linda_Aust nobody even noticed them, everyone is so self-involved, hehe. I was very starstruck, got to admit. They are SUCH a hot couple.

This is soooo accurate! I think it's hilarious.
It's cool that they're leaving him alone, so he can continue living his life.

Er, that lady scores the maximum points on that CWS scale. Like, I get secondhand embarrassment for Fassbender - sometimes it's humourless obsessives riling up other humourless obsessives. But I'll restrain from saying anything more.

Yes, I could go on and on about that one as well but I, too, will use some restraint. ITA, though.

At the ASkars thread we kinda agreed to not mention her name as much, because every time someone did, things got a little mental and the Mods had to step in. So she became She who shall not be named aka Voldemort.

I still think she's pretty, but very bland and very skinny. I can't stand the sight of her and I don't like her type of celebrity (too busy focusing on looks and famous bfs, instead of developing their talent).

Ah, okay... I was never on the ASkars train (though, I do so love Eric) so I guess that's why I never really paid much attention to her after Blue Crush. I only ever noticed her weight situation.

I'm glad people are leaving him alone. And not really any talk about him and her together over the weekend, either. Well, with the exception of the few Twitter mentions and some message board stuff. Good for them.:smile1:

^ I checked out that tweet out of curiosity --> Dude works there, and seems Michael is a semi-habitual coffee customer (kinda funny since the place has that vegan/young hipsterparent vibe) who's lovely with the staff. For a second there, I kinda wished I was an East London barista myself ;).

I couldn't disagree more. His performance in Shame was brilliant. All the awards he has won so far were nearly all for that performance. Shame had some flaws, but I thought it was a great piece of cinema. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I thought Shame was really great cinema too. Not just because Fassbender is hot or whatever, but because McQueen really grasped the subject matter and rubbed the audience's face in it, and he got the subject matter right.

For me, the sex addiction angle wasn't even the most powerful aspect of Shame. Shame touched me more as an adult survivor of a dysfunctional childhood. That scene with Brandon and Sissy on the couch had me in tears because that's exactly how me and my brothers interact, even though we're all in our forties now, even though we've left that childhood behind, it's still inside all of us and when we come together (very rarely) it's seething there under the surface like a horrible, disgusting monster and we all turn into monsters toward each other even though we love each other very much. McQueen captured this dynamic so realistically that it was almost too much for me to watch. Amazing.

Why, do you really wanna work for 6 pounds an hour?

Thank you for sharing this Annabel, it breaks my heart to hear your childhood narrative; and accounts like yours are precisely why I think McQueen made such a grand small movie even though it may be malarkey to some viewers.

Django Django gig at XOYO, with Michael Fassbender stood next to us? Yeah, that was the best gig ever.

Jimi Famurewa ‏ @Jimfam
Pretty sure I just saw Michael Fassbender at the Django Django gig in XOYO. Going to follow him to the urinal to make sure.
