Hello all! Boy, this thread been super quiet over the past day or so. Has everyone just been busy like I have? Or am I missing something here?

Oh, and yes, i'd like to know (as stated a few pages ago) what's going in Georgia, too.

Yes! Affirmative action in favour of the ginger community, I endorse it wholeheartedly!

A lot of young actors seem to have really taken to Shame/Fassbender. I think Hiddleston's also tweeted lots about it. And we all know about James Franco's feelings and essay on the matter :D.

Gemini I imagine it might be quiet in the next few months because the guy's stealthy and his movie promotion season is pretty much done... we'll have to rely on the odd Atlanta bar twitter sighting :).

Oh, I never even saw the bar tweet. Is it known what was written exactly? And yeah, anytime there's any type of sighting of anyone in a bar, it automatically gets a side eye from me. Anybody could look like Fassbender in a bar.

Ah, I'm resolutely staying out of that one, as I've sincerely no clue what's going on. Soldiering on: Ejm, shall we bet that Fass and McQueen are probably getting hands-on together for pre-production details (or auditioning cast and crew) -- they really do seem to have a great shorthand. Maybe he's there to absorb the accent, the place, the atmosphere now that his February is completely free. A twangy Southern US accent for the Fass? Say it ain't so! :D
Has there been drama? I didn't sense it. It has been quite but I've been busy too.

Oh the allusion to a bar sighting tweet was written in jest :) I don't even know which tweet originally referenced his presence in Atlanta. For all we know, it could indeed be a good-looking doppelganger.

If there was any drama, it's probably for the best that it's been taken away since gossip is meant to be enjoyable. The Fassbender would be saddened too, so it's back to smooth waters, I reckon... as it should ;)

I'm guessing that's not Cinnabon icing. It's not very artsy, is it? Not worthy of McQueen's sensibilities.
Well, the American poster for Shame is hardly less provocative, though more subtle: it has a HUGE spoil stain beneath the title. But I love that one, its colours, its simplicity.

Damn, posts seem to get yanked every now and again! Sorry, some of my responses consequentially sound like non-sequiturs.

Blueberry, maybe ze Hungarians got momentary brain freeze and had McAvoy-Duff on their minds instead of Fassbender-Mulligan? :D

Reason why Michael wasn't nominated:

"He's a guy who's unfamiliar to a lot of people and did a movie that's really intimate," one high-ranking academy voter told the Ministry. "That was a super-brave performance but ... perhaps it inspired people to fantasize, and not actually vote."

Poor Michael induced such a Napoleon complex to some of the male academy members that it resulted in a snub. Ah, sex mentalities through the ages. It does not change!

Yeah, I read that earlier. Such crap. First, if this person is talking about why he didn't vote for Michael then that's one voter who can't really speak for everyone else. What did he do? Get together with all the other people who didn't vote for him and talk about why? Second, way to highlight the "fact" that people don't vote based on performance but rather on whether or not they're familiar with the performer. This Academy keeps doing things year after year to further discredit themselves in the eyes of many people.

If 2012's Oscar-nominated movie posters told the truth. Scroll down to see Shame poster ;)

Of all Shame posters, I liked this one the best

Michael Fassbender's Wiki just added:

In 2013, Fassbender is set to take on the role of Harry Flashman in a film adaptation of the books by George MacDonald Fraser.

It's Wikipedia so obviously this is unconfirmed.

Hmm interesting speculation (don't know what to think of it; sounds so random). How about something in Jo Nesbø's The Snowman (as Harry Hole)? Maybe that's actually the one he's discussed with Scorsese.

Fandora, another one that made me  was The Descendants' "Look! George Clooney is Good at Acting!" poster.
