Have you seen Jane Austen Book Club?
Such a lovely movie!
Liked the book too.
Yes, the one with Hugh Dancy, Emily Blunt and Maria Bello. It was a great indie film. Saw it when it came out years ago though.
After seeing it I remember reading all Austen's books
You should see 'Becoming Jane' with McAvoy and Hathaway if you liked this one![]()
I´ve seen Becoming Jane many times. First at the cinema , then the dvd.
And I´ve read all Jane Austin books many times too.
Have you seen this version of Persuasion?

Liked the book too.
I really like ensemble movies + talky dramas (and Jane Austen), so I had great hopes for that one ... and unfortunately I was really underwhelmed.![]()
Emily Blunt is superb in it, but the rest of the storylines flatlined for me. Quite disappointed that Blunt and Zegers never got it onAs I also really didn't care for Evening, maybe it's the Hugh Dancy factor. I don't believe him when he acts. I just see cute adorable Hugh Dancy.
There are a lot of original Jane Austen script/storylines for movies yet to be made: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, ****ing Jane Austen, etc... I wonder if Jane Austen reimaginings are the new 'fairy tales' fad?

I loved Evening , but I didn't watch it since Natasha passed away.
It still makes me sad , thinking of her. ;(
About the movie... It's matter of taste...
Not so fond of Hugh Dancy , but I liked the movie.
Poor Richardson, such a beautiful soul (RIP)... it happened on the ski mountain north of Montreal too, and that was a freak unfortunate incident because she was absolutely fine and reactive when parasecouristes came to examine her. I'm not sure how our health services were perceived to others on the globe but I had the impression it was viewed rather unfavorably and causal to her passing away (which I don't think is true at all)![]()
I wonder how the Shame Q&A went. I've kind of stay confined to this thread for the past 2 days Fassbender-wise, waiting for you ladies to reel in some good and/or bad news...
He's been there before for the opening and he also did a Q&A that time:
Someone who lives in Hackney wrote:
"I met a friend of a friend and he was like I heard you like Michael Fassbender, I met him today, he was really nice, he ate a muffin and said hed be in here all the time."
