You know there might be some truth to Viggo's words. There's a video from the set of ADM with Michael prepping for the shoot - in Vienna coffee house. I saved gifs some time ago and forgot about them. Here they are

So he's a lunatic then ?
I think it's just Michael being Michael in those gifs
Viggo is well known for being a prankster on set and spreading BS stories all around. David Cronenberg said in an interview that he didn't know why Viggo kept telling this BS story to everybody because it never happened on set and that Michael was not a methodist actor at all. He was clearly messing with us ;) I think it's just an inside joke between Michael and Viggo and Michael is probably going to get back at him when he'll come on Letterman's show on wednesday.

yeah, Fassy looks very smart plus he's seems so humble and nice :hbeat:. Intelligence has nothing to do with going to University, i know so many stupid and arrogant *******s who went to prestigious business schools.

and back on the Armani styling for GG, he already wore it for another premiere (i can't remember which one), it was a very classic black suit/white shirt with no tie.. do you think Armani is a great designer choice for him ? i think gucci may be a better option (still great tailoring, but sexier than armani)

Armani is OK but nothing special. To me it doesn't matter what brand suit is as long as it's made out of high quality fabric and well tailored. It's better to have 1 superb suit then 2 or 3 plain ones.

Dunzo, I think Armani is a classic go-to, an unfailing option (as he's looked quite dapper in all the Armani he's worn until now) but not quite exciting or eye-poppingly unique at the same time. I can't think of any designer in particular that I'd love to see on the lad (something reminiscent of Milan's Pitti Uomo is always nice... something along the lines of Alexander McQueen/Ermenegildo Zegna/Lanvin/Dior? Would that make him look too metrosexual?).

I must say, I found the costume designer's work on Crazy Stupid Love, very impressive. Gosling's teal/olive suit + striped dress shirt + tan shoes/impeccable watch is straight out of "GQ best dressed". Any suit that has proper fabric quality and is well-fit instantly shows...whether it's branded or not. So that's all I'm asking for ;) Proper suit, proper shoes, proper watch (and a leeetle bit of moisturizer and hair putty). No golden rings, please :)

THIS!!!

I haven't seen Crazy Stupid Love yet but I think Gosling was definitely influenced by styling of his character. He was stylish beforehand but he looked even better during publicity tout for Crazy Stupid Love and Ides of March.

Savile Row is the place where Fassy needs to go. Can't go wrong with a nice bespoke suit. Ozwald Boateng would be a good place to start. I think Fassy might be a bit too stingy to spend a couple of grand on a suit if he can get one for free from Armani.

You hit the nail on the head!! I get the feeling Michael might not be overly concerned how he's going to fair at fashion critics so ends up looking worse for the wear on red carpet. Not many men care about it so it's refreshing to see one like Ryan Gosling having fun with fashion :D

You're so right about Saville Row - custom made suit would do wonders for Fassy. Who knows, maybe someone wil persuade him in a few years to go there and get the suit!

A lovely image that conjures up :graucho:. He'd be the poster boy for nerds everywhere, a before/after pic with solely the words "THERE'S HOPE".

yeah the heavy metal boy with long hair & bad acne/the hot talented rising actor :smile1:

about the perfect office pumps, i like the Pigalle louboutins, "quite" comfortable for killer heels, they're perfect for the office (classic, but not boring IMO), maybe too popular now though. but i think it's quite impossible to find comfortable high heels (>8cm), it always hurt at the end of the day.
Do you think pumps from high end shoe designers, like louboutin, are more comfortable than pumps from high end clothing designers, like dior prada... ?

@Artica: I have a pair of Loeffler Randall heels & Barbara Bui booties that I quite cherish, but in general I also live in my ooooold chuck taylors (they look grossly weathered at this point but I'm too lazy to get new ones) or flats, height be damned. Ironically, the very few $$ shoes I own aren't worn nearly often enough to warrant their cost, and the cheaper-costing ones are worn all the time, year-round and they're way more comfortable than their pricier sisters.

Our winters are super harsh over here so the typical Montrealer's foot uniform right now is a Sorel or a Pajar boot. Or a Chameau rainboot worn with thick woolies, so it doubles as rain gear in case we get sleeting rain!

I had to google those boots. I've never heard of those brands before. Here in London it's still very much an Uggs, Hunter wellies and Doc Martin's world. It hasn't even snowed yet and it's already the 15th of January so no need for snow boots yet.

He apparently had bad acne and long hair. Not a good combo, especially since his hair seems to be quite fine/thin.

I don't think his hair is thin at all. He seems to have a full head of hair. I think it got thinner because he had to dye it so often. I also suspect that he had a Brazilian blowdry after Jane Eyre. His hair in Xmen was poker straight. It looked sooooo good. :p
I would love to see him in his teens. Where are those pics already, mrs Fassbender?

Seems Fassy isn't very into fashion, he likes casual clothes he feels comfortable in (tees, jeans, leather jackets).. and remember the flip flops in Venice ? i get it, but he has a great body and he would look amazing on red carpet if he hired a great stylist (do u know if he as one ? don't even know if he has a PR team). Hope he will not disapoint us tonight!

Artica, i really like comfy shoes for week end (ballet flats, sneakers: converse, veja) but i prefer heels for the office days even if they hurt

Nice! It seems that you can't go wrong with a good pair of chucks. I'd love to wear high heels, but I can't walk in them so Louboutins are wasted on me. Boohoo.

A lovely image that conjures up :graucho:. He'd be the poster boy for nerds everywhere, a before/after pic with solely the words "THERE'S HOPE".

LOL! He wasn't a nerd! He was a headbanger or so he says.

Who's ready for the "Sexiest Man Alive" showdown contest tonight ? :graucho:

“My first Golden Globe nomination and I’m up against the most talented, handsome leading men in Hollywood. If anyone needs me, I’ll be in the bathtub with my toaster.”
- Michael Fassbender (joking not true, he never said that obviously )

Nice.Pics.Nuff.Said. :p

Anyone else watching "Live From the Red Carpet" on E!? Waiting for Fass to show up. Clooney was like the first to arrive with his gf for hire on his arm. The reporters called them an A-list couple. Um...don't both people have to be A-list for that to be the case? Otherwise it's just and A-list actor and his paid-for arm candy, no?

By the way, I saw the Descendants last night. I thought it was kind of a cute (albeit sad) movie. But (and maybe I was just tired) I totally fell asleep in the last half hour. Oops! Anyway, for me, it was Clooney playing sad, depressed Clooney, which he does quite well but I honestly didn't think there was anything spectacular about his performance. And I tried. I really tried.

Also, I hope E! does the right thing and interviews Fass. Otherwise,

Can't watch it here. I don't have E!. Are any of the websites streaming it live? Has it started already? Any sign of Michael?

Don't yet own many high end shoe designer nor high end clothing designer shoes, so I'll make an eyewear analogy, of which I'm more knowledgeable :D

There's a world of difference between established eyewear designers like Alain Mikli & Face à Face vs. clothing designers who ventured into eyewear e.g. Chanel, Prada, etc. Eyewear experts really know their trade and the stuff is A1 in terms of quality, durability, the fit on nose bridge, etc whereas the clothing designer stuff looks good but is pretty cheap and slides off my face when I tilt my head downwards. I'd much rather wear my older Mikli

I'd venture a guess that it's similar with shoes -- that whilst the Prada and Dior are beautiful and notches above high street wear, they don't compare in the long run to Louboutin or Kirkwood whose master shoemakers think about it day and night.

Hahahaha everyone but George was rather cute for a kid/teen.

Truth to be told, I never understood why Leo and Brad were considered as sexy and hot. I'll admit Brad got better with age(and since he got with Angelina, it seems he acquired a brain as well). :p Leo looks like a man-child/eternal frat boy. Can't take him seriously at all.

@Artica - ballet flats and loafers(a la Tod's) for the bigger part of the year. I like comfortable shoes that I can walk in for long time. And I'm tall enough so no need for extra inches ;)

Jeez, I forgot about Tom Ford!! Didn't Askars look fabulous in a TF suit at the Golden Globes last year? Yep, they need to send some free stuff over to Fassy.

Yes, he did.
And Colin too.

And even if a free TF suit for Fassy would be nice, he is hardly poor as a church mouse, so he'd buy nice outfits in the right size anyway.

And not in gray...

OT , now it's confirmed that Alexander Lycke will take over Fares part in The Three Musketeers.

But you'd still watch it if you find tickets when you visit Sweden.
It's a great show.

Imo, the downside to continued postgraduate studies is that it shelters you from the work market, and some do not have much work experience in their CV, instead filled with a bajillion research paper authorship -- it's not a problem at all if you stay in the academic world, which itself has its own kind of competition; but there's so much learning "onsite'' in non-academia jobs, and suddenly all that researching isn't an advantage anymore. One can have a PH.D. but at the same time might lack proper reflex when interviewed about realtime case scenarios.

So he's a lunatic then ?

Oopsie I forgot to add some smilies in my post like like these two :p:laugh:

If Michael were really such hard core method actor, like Viggo is making him to be, I think there would be a lot of stories from other sets. Crazy behavior gets out sooner than later :D

Here's the video - coffee house part from 03:00

Yes!

No shoes are more comfy than Louboutins and Jimmy Choos.
But I like Ron Rons more than Pigalles.
