Color me surprised :p

Someone in LA is gonna get some Fassdong this weekend. I'm not jealous at all.

Watching Moneyball right now. Catching up for award season. Pitt is really good :) Still think Michael initially deserves it, but I would be fine if Pitt gets it.

Pitt is pretty good in that, but the movie is sooooo boring and the end sucks. Pitt is still not in the same league as Michael, but considering that Fassy is not gonna win this year I hope the Oscar will go to Pitt. Clooney is getting more delusional about his own acting abilities as time goes by. Bish you ain't that fine no way no waaay! ;)

It's so weird because I went into Moneyball wanting to love it and all (I like quiet "dramedies") and I didn't really care for Pitt's character. He's not bad at all, and played a likable character whose arc you rooted for, but in general, I just felt it was Pitt being Pitt... in a sports rainjacket and Dockers, munching on food. Like, I was really impressed with Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character take in 50/50 and went every step of the story with him. I sadly can't say the same with Pitt.

Artica, never saw Cribs because we didn't get MTV in Montreal unfortunately! But I hear that when they go into celebrities and rappers' houses, it's always lavishly over-the-top to the point that some are burning money for tacky self-portraits that fuse their face to a centaur's body or whatnot. :D:rofl:

I agree ;) but Jonah Hill is funny in it + Philip Seymour Hoffman
If Michael doesn't win it's gonna be either Dicaprio or Dujardin/Oldman but no way they randomly give it to Pitt or Clooney.
Pitt is more talented and versatile than Clooney though he deserves an award but not this year. Keep trying Brad...

mustard_stain: Joseph Gordon-Levitt was so good in 50/50 you should watch him in 'Hesher' he's hilarious in that one.

Some of my fave operas:

Carmen , Die Zauberflöte , Le nozze di Figaro , The Barber of Seville , Turandot , Orlando , Madama Butterfly , La Traviata , Lakmé.

And my fave versions of some operas:

Carmen :

Lakmé:

These are 2 of my all time favourites. Carmen was the first CD I ever bought and Lakmé gives me a lump in my throat every time I hear it. Thanks for the links!!!

Now, I think it will come between Pitt and Clooney (not based on actual performance obviously) They've been hustling hard and I think the odds are in their favor (wether its justified or not) A good indication will come tomorrow.

LMFAO!! That just about sums up the average episode of cribs.

JGL is really good in 50/50. I'm quite surprised that he's not in the running for any major awards this season.

I beg to differ. It think it will be a popularity contest between Pitt and Clooney. It's a bloody shame.
