I saw it last week when Meryl Streep came to Paris for the Premiere. Streep's performance was exceptional her appearance, posture and voice were spot on, as usual, but the film itself could have concentrated more on Thatcher's political career and less on the present day dementia sufferer and that was the main problem with Abi Morgan's script, it could have been different if the real Margaret Thatcher wasn't still very well alive. Yet, it's an Oscar-worthy act and the film is worth seeing for Streep alone.

I saw The Iron Lady today and noticed that Abi wrote the screenplay (she worked with Steve to write Shame :] )

Abi is having a great year so far. Last week The Iron Lady came out and today Shame is out.

Meryl Streep was sublime as Maggie Thatcher. I really hope she wins the Oscar this year. I love Viola and Tilda, but the work that Meryl put into bringing this character alive is mind blowing. Besides the woman has been nominated every year for decades and she (almost) always loses out to a young actress. Enough is enough.

I don't think he'll be attending the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards because [he's in London right now and] he didn't show up at the AFI Awards in Beverly Hills today (Dicaprio, Pitt and Clooney were there).

Why do you think he's back in London? Has there been sightings?

He said he likes Jimi Hendrix, The Doors and Tom Waits and I heard him sing Sinatra, The Beatles and Van Morrison in interviews before
He's also a big fan of Metal music bands like Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Motörhead and Mötley Crüe
He has some pretty good tastes in music even if I can't seriously picture him listening to 2Pac's hit "How Do You Want It"

Yes he does. Although he's not into dance music, which surprises me a bit considering that he loves to dance/dry hump.

I agree, I wish it was less about her talking to her dead husband and more about her rising the political ladder. Heck, even more about her relationship with her kids (which seemed strained) Meryl was sublime but the film didn't match the talent.

Does anyone think Michael was suppose to be at the CCMA but something came up at the last minute? Only because, that joke Mindy said made it feel like Michael was supposed to be in attendance. Donald was scripted to make the joke to Charlize Theron so why make a joke about someone who isn't there?
