I've read it this morning and have to agree with Sarah that Michael's team should have handled better overlap between TIFF and Venice. Releasing unofficial statement Michael won't be coming at all in Toronto literally hours before ADM premiere, then that he'll come after all is not very professional but worse things happened. Besides that's not Micheal's personal fault, but a fault of his management.

I don't agree with the rest. When it comes to ADM, Michael being present all the time won't convince neither critics nor public that this movie is great because it's not. Honestly Michael did more than his fair share of promoting ADM. Keira and Viggo pretty much slagged off their parts of promo duties.

As for MMMM, I liked it but in a award season filled with great and excellent movies, this film has no chance of becoming a contender. People from Fox are being smart and pushing films that are most likely to succeed. They're running business, not charity. :p Same thing happened last year with Never Let Me Go. One of the best films in 2010 but it got pushed out by Black Swan and 127 Hours.

I agree with the communication bit as well. It was a pretty half-assed job by his agent or whoever did the publicity. According to Darren Aronofsky(president of the jury) Michael was on his way to Toronto before he took a u-turn back to Venice. You can't blame the guy for collecting a prestigious award instead of attending a festival premiere. I think he made up for it by now, he's been promoting the film even in his Shame interviews. That's a lot more than I can say about Keira and Viggo.

And to blame him for that fact that a film company is not promoting another film properly is plain ridiculous! He's just an actor! He's not a movie star with lots of power in Hollywood.

I haven't seen MMMM yet, it won't be released here until February. If it is that good, then it might do alright during the award season. It is an American film, which certainly helps.

MMMM was pretty good. I'm not a fan of those type of movies so I'm not raving over the film. Elizabethe Olsen is a star in the making. The acting genes really went mostly to her :P She's so good!

2011 National Board of Review Winners

Special awards were announced for Michael Fassbender who earned the group's Spotlight Award for his fantastic work in 2011's A Dangerous Method, Jane Eyre, Shame, and X-Men: First Class.

I'm a bit suprised that Hugo won the award for best picture. Quite a few UK critics have given the film an average/low rating.

Well Done Fassy! :D

I don't get how Rooney Mara can be put in Breakthrough Performance category when The Girl with ... still hasn't been released. They're hyping her and that movie so much that nothing but stellar performance will be considered as a failure.

So someone sent me this over at FassbendertheGinger. Once again all hearsay:

Michael is actually dating his co-star Nicole Beharie, he left Zöe for her. That’s an inside info from the Paris Premiere staff, they had to book an hotel for both of them and Michael asked them to pay for the plane tickets for her so she could tag along in Paris even if she wasn’t suppose to come. He told them they had to make her come or he wouldn’t show up to the Premiere event. They stayed a week together in Paris. I don’t know if it’s really serious but he referred to her as his girlfriend.

LOL I always take anonymous ˝reports˝ with a pinch of salt. I'm not saying that Fassy is a saint but I doubt he could change so quickly. I was a bit surprised to see Nicole in Paris but most likely she was busy and couldn't come to previous screenings of Shame in Europe.

Also Nicole and Michael do get on well but I don't see much of a sexual chemistry between them. I've seen those vids but that's pretty much Fassy being touchy feely and flirty as always.

Ladies I saw Shame last night :D

It's a good movie, great musical score and whole cast was superb, with Michael and Carey giving their best performance ever. However, I felt underwhelmed after movie was over. When it comes to technical stuff, I can't actually pinpoint what's missing but I do know that I wasn't emotionally touched by Shame. From time to time, it felt really empty unless that was the intention - to show how lonesome and emotionally detached Brandon is in his life.

For some reason, I expected of Shame to be somber in sentiment and overall atmosphere but it wasn't. Brandon's boss, David, was ridiculous and whole theater was laughing or chuckling when he was on screen.

Anyway, I'm going to see Shame again on Monday because it won't be released in theaters after the festival.

You remember people gossiping about Alex S & Kristin Bauer then Deborah Ann Woll also based on pix taken at premieres & galas , and obviously they were just friends.

Nothing is impossible of course.

But I would not call anyone for a cheater / homewrecker with no proof.

Good point. And let's not forget pics of Mia and Fassy from LA premiere of Shame. ;) I don't think it would be a stretch to say that he likes her the most out of all of his recent female co-stars. But I don't see any rumors of them hooking up.

Besides how we perceive others and their body language very much depends on cultural and social background. What I perceive as friendly, others may perceive as flirting. For example I see this http://youtu.be/uqsHy1rg46w as sensual and artistic performance of 2 professionals while others believe these 2 have to be lovers.

Sorry to interrupt here but really? People's first thought was that two must be lovers? Really, I can't understand this. I found it stunningly beautiful and as you said artistic. My first thought wasn't "Oh those two are banging." I almost saw it as a dance at certain moments. It was remarkably done. Just because they're not overly covered in clothes while they do it doesn't mean they've "practiced" this in private.

I've read comments like ˝Their sex life must be really good˝ or ˝This is a porn with music˝ I know it's ridiculous but YouTube attracts colourful personalities. :p

Back to MF :D

Really fun interview with Michael and Steve, done during their stay in Chicago. Someone likes cuddly toys and teddy bears :D

So the Shame promo tour made another stop in London tonight. There was a screening of the film at BAFTA with a Q&A session with McQueen and Fassbender. I think the voting might start pretty soon.

Fortunately I was 5 min away when I read it on Twitter, so I walked over to BAFTA right before the start of the film to see if I could spot the Fassmeister. Unfortunately no sign of him or the rest of the Shame crew, so I left to go back to the cinema and watch a film.

I returned after the film and after waiting for ages I spotted both Steve and Michael standing in front of their car chatting to their drivers. I think I might have looked a bit suspicious waiting outside for almost an hour, so I just left and walked past the Ginger in his cool brown leather jacket. His back was turned to me. So no pics, no vid, no receipts! I guess a career as a Stan or Pap wasn't meant to be.

Hopefully someone else had more luck.
