That's what Im worries about too, the bag being too flashy. The bag I was looking at was kind of big, I think a smaller metallic is something I would like more.

I think you can wear a metallic bag all year round if it's the right metallic shade.

Love metallics, consider them a neutral. My Vuitton Mahina XS in pewter is an understated color that goes with everything and is super soft. The XS also had come in bronze.

I just recently got a good deal on a medium Givenchy Antigona in a metallic, a gunmetal/pewter type color from 2013 (barley worn ) . I was a little nervous at first about it as well but like a lot of the ladies have said it is a great neutral and I will use it as a daytime bag!

As I mentioned, I loooooove metallics in the range from shiny / loud to matte / understated. Last night I went out with DD & some of my friends. My Proenza Schouler Small Courier came along. She is by far my loudest metallic but because of the great leather and how PS processed the color, the leather is very supple and I can't see the finish flaking off.

I have one, a RM MAM. I get lots of compliments when I take it out. I am looking at a metallic bag for evening though- I think its a great pop with a neutral outfit.

I know we have a “Share your Red Bags” thread. Love that, but I’m hoping we will get some contributions to a “Share your Gold (or Silver?) Bags “ thread. I don’t have one, but I would sure like to. As we enter December, I’m thinking more and more that a metallic Gold Bag would be just what I need. Anyone care to share?
