How does your man respond to holding a purse

  • Sure, no problem!

  • No way, nuh uh, not going to happen!

 Funny and cute story over Labor wkend. I packed my bag too heavy (I had Sept. issue of Vogue in there:wtf:) and was getting tired of carrying it. He saw me having issues with it and said "Do you want me to carry it?" I was shocked b/c he's the stereotypical 'man's man' hence, I would have NEVER expected this from him. I said yes and he carried it so funny I had to laugh yet it was cute. Its a two handle bag, usually carried on the elbow part of the arm or in hand by the straps. He carried it under his lower arm like a football helmet.

I wish I had a pic but I was so 'proud' of him for relieving me of my load.

My DH doesn't care, if I'm carrying a bag that has a shoulder strap he will hang it around his neck (so it's like a trough hanging off the front of him), and follow me around with it like that. Or if it's a hand held bag he will go with the football helmet method, sometimes he'll put it in the crook off his arm and prance around. :smile1:

There should be another poll for: Will he go through your bag?

Mine will wear my bag, because he is a jackass and he will do anything to make me laugh/embarrass me. Or he will carry my bag when it gets really heavy.

But, he will not go through my bag whatsoever. He loves my huge purses, because he gives me allllll his stuff to carry (keys, wallet, phone, etc.), but if he needs something he hands me the bag and asks for it. :confused1:

^^^ Yes! Keys, cellphone, aspirin, all go in MY bag, then it starts to weigh a ton!
But DH is totally cool with holding it. He usually laughs and says "But it doesn't go with my outfit!"

My bf doesn't mind at all. I only ask If I'm trying something on, if I'm putting on or taking off my hoodie or something along those lines.

I think it's funny as hell when I see couples and the bf/husband is carrying his gf/wife's bag all day long and totally looks so uncomfortable.:roflmfao: What's the point of taking a purse with you if you can't carry it urself!

My boyfriend is actually really good about it. I have this huge coach tote that I found in my uncle's closet (long story that worked out great for me). I use it for weekend trips that I usually pack enough to last at least five days. It's black so it doesn't stand out and my boyfriend will carry it for me a lot and I have caught him balancing it on his toes so that it doesn't hit the ground since he knows how much I hate my bags touching the ground. Or he will make sure that is on top of his bag which is on the ground. He understands my obsession with bags they way I understand his obsession with electronics.

He wouldn't wear it on his shoulder but my husband has held my bag for me! Now getting my teenage son to hold it...you'd think he was superman and his mom just told him to hold kryptonite!
