Is your purchase urgent or can you wait a bit?
I would wait until I am visiting a city with an LV store. Stores have locks in stock so it's very unlikely you would not be able to pick up a lock then.

Thanks for the suggestion. I can wait a bit--however, customer service indicated that there's no guarantee stores have a lock in stock, so that's a (time-wasted) risk. [emoji53]

As I mentioned, I did try calling the store I'll next be near, but never got anyone to answer. Thanks again, fabuleux!

Hey guys!

I'm currently considering a Zippy Vertical Wallet in black Epi. I'm coming from the old model of the women's Zippy Compact Wallet in Damier Ebene, and I'm considering retiring that for the ZVW.

All of my SLGs are in Ebene, and I just thought I'd like to move to a more discreet look with the black Epi, starting with the 4 Key Holder that I just got. But the use and function is so similar that I'm having second thoughts. I dunno; can you give me guys some input? Can those with the ZVW give me some opinions on the wallet itself?

Thanks! :)
I hope you don't mind a female poking into this club, but I have this wallet in Damier Graphite and I love it. I was actually torn between the older model Zippy Compact and this one, and the Vertical's layout won me over.

I have the ZVW in monogram cobalt and love it. It is very well designed and very practical. Let me know if you have specific questions. I eyed the epi version myself: it's incredibly beautiful.

Thanks for the input and the photos, both of you :)

I agree, I reeeally love the layout. I was playing with it in store and the setup is better than my ZCW, even if just by a little bit. I'm kinda afraid to pull the trigger coz I watched a YouTuber do a review on it, and while he loves it to bits, he pointed out the creasing on the Epi version (in just a few months use) and that scares me.

I feel like I don't want to do canvas coz I'll be moving it between black bags, and the Damier Graphite would clash with my Monogram Eclipse pieces, I think.

In comparison to my three year old ZCW, the corners are still immaculate; I can totally understand the hardware scratching and tarnishing haha. So I guess my question is, do you think the Epi leather would hold up in this particular piece (I'm gonna Google how Epi holds up in general)? Should I go for it for the slightly better, albeit pretty similar, layout?

If you get a vertical zippy in canvas, it could crack when opened fully. I've seen some used ones with that problem. Epi will crease too :(

I wonder if the problem with the Epi Vertical is that the Epi "grain" is perpendicular to the fold? My Zippy Coin Purse folds parallel to the grain and there aren't any signs of cracking, although mine is not in regular rotation.

I've used my Vertical daily for over 4 years though, and the canvas is like new.

Like any leather, epi will show some wear over time. But that's part of the beauty of leather. If that bothers you, go with canvas.

Thank you Fabuleux. My SA has placed a reservation today and it should arrive in late November the latest (as long as it's before Christmas).
I hope you get it! I was promised a camera bag slate last year and waited months and in the end my SA could not get it. Thankfully he was able to get the slate backpack which is even more fabulous. Same again with the Noé Marin regatta this spring - although that worked out for the best since I picked it up in Epi leather.
