Ugh now I wonder if this bag will need repair in the future? I wonder if I should even get it? I want a worry and hassle free bag ever since my PDV PM fiasco.
These edges will get ragged after some wear and tear on this model. I think it's nothing to do about it, because LV can't repair damaged canvas, isn't that right?

They don't repair damaged canvas but if it's within a year of purchase or it was caused by something the supplied (the strap) then they usually will exchange it for a new bag or another model. Personally I feel that this is the worse it's going to get for a while as the canvas is strong. But like I said I normally wear mine at an angle with the strap, it's the most comfortable for me and it's stops the strap rubbing the canvas.

I'm sorry but if that was my bag my a** would be back at LV demanding something be done. Once that gets wet, it is only going to get worse. Take it back and ask them what they will do to fix it. Ragged edges caused by supplied piece is unacceptable especially if it is new(ish). Just my opinion.

Well it is better in person than online. Ended up getting it. I wanted something smaller than my nemeth volga for every day stuff I can fit (shades, chapstick, wallet, headphones, iPhone, keys, it even fits a passport. To each his own I guess. This and the PO are the only two items I'm going to pick up from the Eclipse line. Honestly, its still undetermined if this is going to be permanent or not. It came with a Fashion Show booklet.

Did you get this in the US? I tried calling customer service today and she told me they haven't received them
Yet. Thanks

What's your opinion on this new Briefcase? It has matt "Steel " hardware instead of shiny gold, and the handles are attached in a different way than usual. It has a knitting on the backside (that looks a bit cheap), and it has canvas piping instead of the usual leather (is this another down grade in quality?). Hmm... So far, I'm not a fan, but it may grow.
-It's strange to see how much more masculine the monogram looks just by replace the zipper with a different color ;)

This is supposed to go along with the new suitcase, correct? Because that's why I was so confused when the hardware of this bag didn't match the matte powdered gold finish of the new suitcases! Like what's up with the lack of consistency??? And overall, I would never pay that much for that bag when I could have a new PDV that has much more leather for the same price.

Maby I'm overreacting, but the canvas edge on the right side of the zipper is a bit ragged. Not much, but it's noticeable.

I've noticed that white stuff apear every so offton, usually if theres been a scrap. I use a toothbrush to get it off, you have to press hard but it does come off or use your finger nail. I'm not too worried about this as its the strap that they've supplied so if it does get worse or the canvas starts ripping then they will most likley accept this and offer a replacement. At the moment it does seem like wear and tear. On the edges of the canvas wear the black has been worn away I've just used a q-tip and some black polish and it looks as good as new.

My only concern that it could get worse is that I can see the 'seam' of the canvas wear the glazing has been worn awaybut they seem to be well glued together and the strap buckle can't get between the two.

Ok. I will ask them on my next visit to the LV store. Strange it's only on this side. The other edges looks fine.

Has anyone heard that the monogram eclipse box clutch is already pre sold out and they won't be getting any more in the US?

Does anyone have an in to get one? Help!

The thing I'm most concerned about the Eclipse line is the trim; from the pics it looks like it's in the same rubberized texture as the PDV PM. The Explorer tote is exactly what I've been looking for, but that matte trim gives me pause.
Yes, me too! I hate rubberized leather because it does not wear well at ALL.

Quick question for you... Does your PDJ in Monogram Macassar have the rubberized leather or is it the normal leather used on the entire Macassar range? I wish they didn't make the change to the rubberized leather on the DE bags because the coated leather, while it didn't age well on Neverfulls, wore like iron on the business-style bags. And I preferred the non-rubberized, yet still dyed, leather of the classic Macassar range.

How does rubberized leather age?
