medium nightingale shoulder strap

Hello! I just got my first ever medium nightingale, and this is my stupid question: How do you remove the shoulder strap? There's not clip or anything I can press to release the hook. Could anyone please enlighten me? Thanks!

By the way, what's the zipper on the shoulder strap for? Too many stupid questions...

It perfectly fine and youre not alone. Hahaha! When my mom get her Gale we are puzzled how to take the sling off. We're like bomb squad figuring out how to diffuse a bomb LOL

Anyway... see the "pitched" corners of the d-rings? You just have to a line the two "pitched" part the slide it off.

It's so you can remove the wider shoulder pad from the strap if you don't like it.
And the zip gives it a bit of edge
