Mean, mean... and rather dumb... elitist people.

The next time someone says something like that about you, you should just tell it like it is. "I know that we work together and you and I have so far been alright with one another, but in no way does that mean it's acceptable for you to pass judgement on me and my choice of jobs, and then to force that judgement on me by saying something completely rude and insensitive to me. I would suggest the next time you have an opinion about something I'm doing, you keep it to yourself." And just be done with it. People like that need to be called on their crap. She feels it's alright to be rude because very few people will ever actually say anything to her about it.

You work in a travel agency too w/her right?

So she isn*t going to travel?

Honestly coach is just a job as any other...unless it requires a md, phd and that sort

I agree w/others

Afterall snappy pple aren't happy pple

Just ignore her and allow her to wallow in her own unhappiness

Thank goodness that she showed you her true character. Now you won't have to waste any of her energy getting to know her better.

I'd feel sorry for her. She's going to live a hollow existence treating people like that, and they'll do the same to her.

Enjoy your awesome new 'second shift' and all the wonderful perks.

Besides, being of service to others--in any capacity--is something of great honor and dignity.

Ack Sarah, if I were there I would have smacked that b**** right upside the head for you! LOL.

I have worked retail since I started working in 1991. And having done so, I think everyone should be required to work at least one holiday season in their lifetime just to see what it is like. Seriously, the people I have to help sometimes seem to leave their brain at the door as soon as they walk in. Utterly clueless to the downright rude, to let's let our wild heathen children run amok, ENCOURAGED by their family. I have had entire families wander around the store just randomly messing stuff up right before closing, openly saying that, "the longer we stay, the longer they have to stay." I've had people who smell, people who wave you down like taxis, people who think you can read minds. Seriously, I could go on and on and on.

But for this b**** (back OT, LOL) to say that to you, well, perhaps she is a bit jealous! Why wouldn't you want to work in a place as FABULOUS as Coach? Getting the hottest bags as soon as they are released...being surrounded by FABULOUS bags all day long. I love shopping at my boutique. I value my SAs opinion and they are fun to talk to! A job that you can love, and love yourself at the end of the day, is all that matters to me.

You are probably going to laugh when I tell you this but I love Coach so much. My SA'a are terrific and I know that I won't ever be able to work there until one of my son's goes off to college (meaning I will get part of my life back). I admire my SA's and their style - love the scarves they wear, the white shirts with black sweaters and their black slacks. I think they have such panache and style that I went out and bought two black sweaters -one is a V-neck with long sleeve, the other is a vest to wear with my black cuffed slacks. I also just purchased the Legacy ponytail scarf and the perfume ponytail scarf. I mean the highest form of flattery is emulating something or someone. I think the Coach SA's are so cool and they look cool too!

Awww that's so sweet! And wonderful to hear! We dress to impress in a practical style that's efficient as well as trendy, I like to think. I like the simple, clean lines and basic colors we wear, and adding a scarf to black and white really accentuates the ensemble! My manager said today that we want the customers to see us as "Coach girls" and she said that it means being stylish, trendy, edgy yet vintage, classic and effortlessly chic as well as classy.

I'm trying SO HARD to live up to the stuff she says! My eyes get all big and I'm like, "I gotta be all those things at once?!"

I agree with the earlier post about how everyone should have to work a holiday season in retail. They should ALSO have to work a Mother's Day at Red Lobster like I did when I was in college. It'd make people appreciate the service they get and then they wouldn't be snobs like that horrid girl at work!

You are a Coach Girl and I am so envious and at the same time so happy for you. I worked a few seasons in retail at Macy's, believe me it is not easy work. You already have most of the qualities your manager says you should have, think of it you are a Coach Handbag Lover and collector. You appreciate fine quality and fine detail and craftmanship in leather goods. I am sure every time you carry one of your Coach Bags you exude style and Panache. You enjoy your new postition at Coach!!! Please don't forget to keep us posted about new styles coming out!!! All the best to you!!!
