Scarves Maxi twilly, Maxi Happiness!

Hello Ladies! I have been off TPF for some time now because I am too busy with work. However, I hope to be able to reveal all of my summer scarf loot soon.


I hate to rain on the love fest for the maxi twilly, but I am just not **seeing** it!

Don't hate me.


I won't be buying the maxi twilly because I am not fond of either pattern and think the length is too long for me to handle. With that said, I haven't seen it in real life yet. However, I DO love the obi-sash look of this!

I predict that H will raise the price of the maxi next season big-time. They did this with the cotton cheche once they saw how in demand they were. In the meantime, I am enjoying your pics!

Thank you, sweet lisa! I loved reading your concern over the laser issue but smiled SOOOO BIG when I read that you still ordered one!
About Brazil, my DH loved the orange one for me, but I have an orange brazil stole, so I wanted something different. I do have my eye on the green brazil if it comes to my store. Seeing it modeled by the beautiful peppers, makes me crave this one, too. The Cavalcadour print is fun and busy. Next to blue, red is a big obsession for me. I also love the pink and camel in this one, too.
I can't wait to see what you ordered!

Everyone is so excited as am I. But is anyone thinking this is a step in the wrong direction? Laser printed? No rolled hems on this piece that is being worn as a scarf....but twillies of course are not rolled. I just see less work/less money but if that translates into less quality and moves from silk to leather.....hummmm...

By the way, my first one is en route to me.....

I have no idea if laser printing is cheaper or lower quality than screen printing, but after watching scarves being printed at the Festival de Metiers, I can see how it would be problematic to try applying ink to a very long narrow strip of silk using multiple screens. You'd be lucky to get the ink from the first screen applied perfectly straight all the way down the Maxi Twilly, much less four or five more screens. Of course, if anyone could find a way and have the patience to do it perfectly, it'd be Hermes, but I imagine the price would be significantly higher than $290.

Miss Baga - this red calvacadour one looks SOOOOO much prettier on you than the one on the H.com model. You are wearing it so well! I'm starting to think I need this cw after seeing it on you. Don't worry about falling off the wagon - it's a bumpy ride and really is impossible to stay on.

designerdiva, Thank you so much! I love your black calvacadour one and how striking it looks on you! The contrasts of that one are fabulous. It was hard for me to decide which cw to choose, but since I have two 90cms in this pattern (one is turquoise and the other, black) I decided the red would be something that I am not repeating color wise in this design. I can't wait to wear my pink sweater with this when it gets cooler here. Looking forward to taking some styling cues from you when your red one arrives!

Thank you, MYH! (I am blushing! ) I like this colorway because even though it is bright, the other colors seem to blend in well with the dominant red, so it doesn't seem like a "loud" scarf to me. (Did that make any sense?) This colorway would look brilliant on you!! Come and be my twin! It is so true about the bumpy ride of H!! So glad we are all here for each other to hold on to the wagon!
