Material question

Sooo.. I just got my new damier Beaubourg, and have some material questions (hope I won't sound really dumb lol)

It's says on the label:
Coated fabric - what does it mean? Coated in what?
Man made lining - what do they mean by that? What's the lining, and what's the meaning of man-made?

Coated fabric = the canvas exterior, it's an Egyptian cotton base, and coated in vinyl.

Man made simply refers to the fact that this is not a natural fiber.
