They are here is all their gorgeousness my Amaranto Minnie Selene and Lead Minnie Selene. It is extremely difficult to capture the Amaranto leather color it is much deeper and richer than the photos I took. I took lots of photos and the two I am posting are probably the best. Although not perfect also it is foggy and overcast which also does not help in trying to get the best photos.

Congratulations your new bags are stunning. I would like to order a midi Selene but newly cautious of going head first into bespoke orders. I know you love your Aphrodites so how does your midi Selene compare? Will you be doing any mod shots at all please...?

They are two very different style bags. The Aphrodite is more dressy at least in my opinion they are. The midi Selene is definitely more a tote style bag and more casual. Having said that I feel I can use the midi Selene both over the weekend and for work.

I love both the Aphrodite and the midi Selene. The thing I like about the midi Selene is that it is the perfect size tote and is also very stylish.

I did take some mod shots I just did not have enough time to resize them for tpf before I left on a business trip. I get back late Wednesday night and promise to put them up on tpf on Thursday morning.

I probably have not been much help to you because I love both these styles a lot.
Having said that I am thinking of another Minnie Selene for Spring that might tell you how much I like the Minnie Selene. Love the Aphrodite for work and going out love the minnie Selene because it is so versatile and easy to use and easy to carry.:smile1:

You have been a great help and we seem to enjoy similar styles and we're the same height so if you love the Midi Selene I have a feeling I will too.

Thank you for agreeing to post your photos - it really is very sweet of you 😀

Di, I love the Amaranto. What a gorgeous colour and so happy that you got a midi size in this style.

I'm still on the fence over colour so I'm going to wait until the new year. It will either be pearl grey or lead for the Selene and then definitely the taupe/black combo for the Aphrodite...unless Marco brings out some amazing Spring colour that just blows me away...which is entirely possible!

Djfmn,

Thanks so much for offering to do this! You are a gem! My laptop is 12" x 8".

I am going through my bag collection, which is numerous to see which ones I can send to new homes to buy a pair of these beauties.

I am almost giddy with excitement not having purchased a bespoke bag for a very long time. Thanks again for your help!

DMarie
I measured and it looks as though the laptop you have will fit in a minnie Selene.

Let me know if you need anything else.

I love love love the minnie Selene it is a great bag.

I have to say my full Selene has been GREAT while I've shopped for Christmas. I just kept stuffing store bags into her, and she took everything I smashed into her. I seriously ADORE this style! She's just right for me. The African bronze resists everything I do to it without complaint, and the fullness and comfort of the Selene is just, well, it's just amazing. I do want a black Minerva, but I know in my heart another Selene is definitely in my future. I need Valentina and Marco to help me with colors, though. It's just so much easier to contemplate the colors they suggest! I need a brown bag, so I'm going to let them decide for me.:sunshine::heart:

I love this style so much and have been so indecisive about colour choice. I've looked at my collection and I'm thinking now that I need to make a choice between Amaranto and Burgundi since I love Di and Lovie's bags so much in these leathers.

So, which would you choose - Amaranto or Burgundi? And what linings do you think would work best with each?

Vannie that is a difficult choice. I was looking for a red bag and something I could use year round. burgundy for me is more a winter fall color. Having said that I love Lovies burgundy bag. I have the grey lining in my Amaranto midi Selene I was going for a more classic look along with the silver HW. I did consider the cappuccino but decided with the silver HW the grey would be better. I have the turquoise in the lead midi Selene and I really love it.

I probably have not been much help. I really love the Amaranto if you are looking for a red bag it is a stunning red very versatile.

Thanks Di! I wear a lot of greys/blues and a bit of black so I think the Amaranto works with my colour palette. I didn't want to get another variation of a colour I already have in my collection. I had a wine bag at one point but don't have it anymore, so this colour is a gap in what I have.

Oh I so understand your dilemma in making a choice! I purchased an armaranto Selene with a turquoise lining and gold hardware just prior to Xmas. I brought the bag with me to a conference in NYC last week and it was the perfect bag! I could not have been more pleased with the size, usefulness, ease of carrying and color. I also purchased a phoebe in the same color combination to use inside of the Selene and again that worked great.

I have a small laptop and I was able to put it in the Selene for meetings in the lobby area of the hotel. It fit perfectly, along with a water bottle, small pad of paper, the phoebe, gloves (it was very, very cold) and a few other assorted items. I wore it with a grey down coat and it was a terrific pop of color. It also matched the clothing selection I had for the conference including a red dress, red tweed jacket and black dress perfectly. I wore mostly grey and black casual clothes during the non business hours and again it worked great.

The color is more red than I originally expected, although a beautiful red. I was somehow thinking it was going to be more of a Marsala color (color of 2015.).

While the full size Selene is large it is a perfect tote and I have not put down since starting to use almost two weeks go. And The color is so happy!

I took a few pictures with my mobile phone. I'll try to upload a little later today. Hopefully this is helpful to your decision making process!

Thanks, this really helps! I'd love to see your photos.

Here are the photos of my Amaranto Selene with Gold HW and Turquoise lining. The color is captured the best in the first photo, although the other two do a pretty good job in the Northern California winter sunlight.

A couple of additional comments, Marco suggested the Turquoise lining and at first I wasn't sure, concerned it would look too much like the U.S. flag, but I don't feel that way at all and really love the color which I would have never choose in a million years.

Second, this is some really durable leather. I must say I have not been kind to my Selene having been traveling for over 10 days and she looks brand new. Not a scratch, mark or mare. She's been pushed under airplane seats, sat on convention center floors, etc., plopped down in all different types of venues and looks great. I should be kinder to her, but it's great to know this leather can take a beating and continue to look fabulous!
