I just received my Lead Selene today. She is beautiful and the leather is incredible. I have to wait until Thanksgiving to take pictures because it is too dark after I get off of work. I am definitely getting another Selene in Bronze and I want another color but not sure which other one yet. The Taupe is the perfect neurtral but I may try the Olive Green. Decisions, decisions...

Lenie congrats on your lovely new Selene. I am planning to get the midi Selene and I am struggling to make a decision between the lead and the bronze. I would love your impressions about the lead. Is it a bright, blingy silver or does it change in different light.

I have never struggled as much as I am with choosing between the lead and the bronze. I am not sure if you ever purchased the BE line but I have the anthracite leather in a London tote. The anthracite is a mix of the bronze and lead but is warmer than the lead. I have the swatches but I am even more confused now. I thought lead then I changed to bronze now I am back to lead. I would love your opinion as I struggle to make a decision. Although I see you are considering getting the Selene in bronze as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tend towards the cooler tones so I got the Lead first, but will definitely get the Bronze. When I look at the Lead in bright lights, it looks a little more silvery, but not flashy or cheap. In room light, it is more pewter. I don't have the BE anthracite but I have seen pictures. I think the texture and thickness of the leather makes the Lead look a little deeper than the anthracite. I think of it like a black pearl that kind of changes with the lighting. If you tend to like greys, silver tones, cooler tones, the Lead would work well. The Bronze with gold hardware would be great if you have more warmer colors in your wardrobe. Both colors are beautiful--that's why I need the Bronze next. What color clothes or bags do you predominantly have? Which color first caught your eye--Lead or Bronze? You can't go wrong with either one so get both! I know, that's not a lot of help but you will probably go back and order the other color anyway. And if you buy 2 bags in the same order, your shipping is free (another incentive).

I GOT MY BRONZE SELENE TODAY! :woot:

Oh dear God, this is THE most beautiful bag I ever seen or owned. :woohoo:The bronze could not be more perfect. Marco picked gold for my lining. The two leather straps inside that hook together give Selena waistline. She is not a plain, straight tote. Those little hooked straps inside her REALLY make her so different. :happydance:

I cannot describe how profoundly talented Marco is. He is just so unique. Other bags and styles are just purely pale when compared to Marco.

I am thrilled almost to the point of death with this large bronze Selene. I will definitely be ordering another Selene!!!

Diane is posting pix of my new bronze Selene because I don't know how to do it. No mods shot yet because I can't find a good spot, and all the pix are coming out way too light. Maybe tomorrow in the natural sunlight I can get mod shots. But suffice it to say, I have NEVER seen a more beautiful bag than Selene.:heart::heart:And to think she will be available in the midi size too for customers who prefer smaller bags.

I tell you truly, Marco is a genius. I don't think there's anything in the universe this man cannot do.
:sunshine:

Lenie thank you so much for your response. I can see why you want both the lead and the bronze. I am thinking I might go lead first and as you said I might just get the bronze as well. I just posted photos of Moonfancys bronze Selene for her. It is a gorgeous bag.

Oh, also the picture of the 2 leather straps that are hooked together is a nice example of her color. This color is SO hard to photograph, It's like it's alive or something. Sometimes this bronze Selene looks very brown. Then she favors kind of a copper color. From there, she goes to a metallic that is rare. Really rare to find. And she is SO comfortable. The straps do not fall of your shoulder. She feels very nice next to your body. She's very easy to get into (but the leather straps that hook together inside her make it very difficult for a would-be thief to get his hands into her. If I never, ever get another pocketbook again in all my life, I will be happy because I have Selene.
:dothewave:

Lenie, you are so right. The texture and thickness of the African leathers makes the colors amazing. The leather is so soft. If you pinch it between your fingers you feel like you are squeezing a thin sponge. I am really a Goldie Girl all the way, but I do have swatches of all the Africa leathers. Lead included, of course, and lead is a tad silvery for my taste. Not that the lead is ugly. By no means, NOI! She is just as beautiful! But when I go looking for a pocketbook to buy, I cannot consider silver in leather or hardware. (Did I mention I'm a die hard GOLD lover?) When I received the Africa swatches, my eyes zoomed straight to the bronze. She is going to look nice with so many clothes I have. I wore all black today, and she she broke up all the black in just the loveliest way. I am going to wear all brown one day soon and see how she deals with that. She kind of "borrows' colors she sees around her. A most unique leather, truly. And I got her with gold hardware which - in my opinion - makes her so rich and expensive-looking, and SO luscious! There is NO way you can look at this bag and wonder if she came from Walmart. Her quality is overwhelming. I really cannot say enough good things about this bronze Selene.

WOW .. she is GORGEOUS!!!!! I can't wait to see this leather in person. Seeing your photos NEARLY made me want to see if they hadn't started to make my Nut Brown Mini Minerva, that I could switch it to Bronze. BUT I think it would look great in Nut Brown too, so I'm letting it go (it might be in production anyway). :D

I MAY need to get this leather in a bag down the road though ... just stunning!

A big congrats! :smile1:
