Bumping this thread to see if anyone has any experience with Mark Cross' saffiano? Looking at the Madeleine 30, the box leather looks prettier to me but the saffiano might hold up better. Any thoughts?

Hi! Great question, and the Madeline is such a beautiful bag! I don’t think you would go wrong in any choice. However, to the question I own two bags in their saffiano, one that’s completely saffiano, and another that’s just trimmed in it. I would have to say it’s on the more delicate of saffiano leathers that I’ve tried from many brands. It doesn’t have as much of an exterior coating that some other brands have. Making it more delicate, but definitely not as delicate as box. If you have or have ever heard things about LV’s Epi leather, it’s very similar. So definitely still wears well and you don’t have to baby it, but if you run your nail across it a little to hard a scratch will happen! Hope this helps!

Thanks to this thread, I was scrolling around on the Mark Cross website and came upon the nicest bucket bag I've seen - the Pyramid small bucket. Looks like it would be very practical and easy to use (for a bucket where everything is usually so hard to find in a bottomless pit!), gorgeous leather, deceptively simple design. Can be worn crossbody or shoulder, also has a back pocket. Might be the 2024 add to my collection!

Hi everyone! Happy to have found a MC thread on the forum. I have a red Grace bag which I bought a few years ago. Unfortunately, though, I have only used it once as I've since realised red doesn't go with my everyday style, so now I'm considering getting it dyed black by a leather surgeon. Has anyone ever done anything of the sort (to any bag)?

I got this Mark Cross on eBay, and the body of the bag is in great condition, but the handle is cracked -- so I'm hiding it with a scarf!

Does any one know what this model/style is called or approximately how old the bag is?
