Margot Robbie’s Tonya Harding Biopic ‘I, Tonya’ Gets Distribution
Miramax has bought U.S. distribution rights to Margot Robbie’s upcoming comedy “I, Tonya,” which will center on Tonya Harding’s 1994 attack on rival figure skater Nancy Kerrigan.

Craig Gillespie (“Lars and the Real Girl”) is directing. Robbie, who broke out in “Suicide Squad” this summer, will also produce along with Tom Ackerley through their Lucky Chap producing company with Bryan Unkeless and Steven Rogers, who also wrote the screenplay.

Len Blavatnik and Aviv Giladi will executive produce for AI Film, which is financing the project. AI came on to the project in October.

Rosanne Korenberg will oversee the project for Miramax. Rogers’ script was named to the 2016 Black List on Monday.

“The script is unbelievable,” Robbie said in a statement. “It’s unlike anything I’ve read before and I know Craig’s approach with the material and the characters will be executed brilliantly. Tom and I at LuckyChap are so grateful to partner with Bryan for what will hopefully be the first of many jobs together.”

UTA Independent Film Group and CAA handled representation of domestic rights with Sierra/Affinity handling international sales, which launched at the American Film Market.

Robbie and Lucky Chap are represented by Management 360, CAA, and attorney Jeff Bernstein. Robbie is additionally represented by Aran Michael Management. Rogers is represented by Gersh. Gillespie is represented by UTA and Management 360. The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

David Ayer, Margot Robbie Reteam for All-Female DC Villains Movie 'Gotham City Sirens' (Exclusive)
Robbie will reprise her role as DC villainess Harley Quinn.
David Ayer is back in the business of DC comic villains.

The filmmaker, who directed Warner Bros.’ all-bad guy comic book movie Suicide Squad, is reuniting with that film’s star, Margot Robbie, for Gotham City Sirens, a feature project that will showcase the top female villains from the DC stable, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Ayer will direct and produce the project with Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn, the part-time girlfriend of the Joker who is currently DC's most popular female character. Robbie also is executive producing.

Sirens was a recent comic series from DC that focused on the popular villainesses from Batman’s rogue gallery. Among them were Quinn; Catwoman, Batman’s sometime love interest; and Poison Ivy, who uses plants and their toxins to get what she wants.

Geneva Robertson-Dworet, a top female writer in the action sphere who also has penned scripts for the Tomb Raider remake and Warners' own Sherlock Holmes 3, is writing the screenplay.

The heads of DC’s film arm, Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, also will be involved in a producorial role.

Suicide Squad was a tough production and the movie underwent some reshoots, but it turned out fine for all parties involved as it grossed over $745.6 million globally. It is now the 13th highest-grossing superhero release of all time domestically and has surpassed the international box office of Deadpool, a movie to which it was often compared in terms of tone.

The studio is still developing a Suicide Squad sequel as well as looking into a spinoff featuring Deadshot, the assassin character played by Will Smith. But this project was the furthest along, and with Robbie’s Quinn having received near universal praise for Squad, this was the most natural project for Ayer with which to make his Warners return. The filmmaker is currently nearing the end of principal photography for Bright, a fantasy thriller for Netflix that stars Will Smith and Joel Edgerton.

Warner Bros. doesn’t have a release date for Sirens, but the project is now on the fast track.

Ayer is repped by CAA and Sloane Offer.

Inside Margot Robbie’s wedding: First photos revealed
THE first photos from Margot Robbie’s low-key wedding to her long-term partner Tom Ackerley have been revealed.

It’s no surprise that Australia’s ultimate cool girl pulled off an awesome, chilled-out wedding without even of hint of celebrity fuss.

The wedding took place yesterday afternoon at a private property in Coorabell, in the Byron Bay hinterland, in NSW.

In images obtained exclusively by NewsCorp, the beautiful 26-year-old bride wears a cream, lace off-the-shoulder wedding dress. She decided to forgo a veil and wear her hair in loose curls, pinned away from her face.

News.com.au understands the nuptuials were a closely-guarded secret by Robbie, Ackerley and their respective families. Guests weren’t even told about the location at all, and were instead asked to assemble at different locations from Byron Bay to the Gold Coast, where they were collected by buses and escorted to the venue.

Once they arrived, all guests were told to hand in their mobile phones and cameras as a dozen security guards roamed the property to keep unwanted guests out.

The festivities kicked off about 4pm with 50 guests gathering under a Teepee-style tent to watch the couple exchange their vows.

After the ceremony, the happy couple mingled with guests around a pool surrounded by sun lounges.

The revellers then danced the night away in the luxurious property until 11pm when guests started to head home, some slightly under the weather.

It’s understood the couple, who met in 2013 on set of World War II drama Suite Française in France, decided not to sell their wedding photos as part of a magazine deal that could have netted them hundreds of thousands of dollars.

This afternoon Robbie publicly confirmed the marriage on Instagram.
