It's really a cute bag, it's just overpriced. But let's face it, all designer bags are overpriced. There's no way an Hermes is worth the price of a car, but that doesn't seem to stop us! At least this one's only a couple hundred over!

Anna... I had read alot of mixed reviews and was also a little concerned but I must say I love my MT... I have not changed bags since I got her... I'm thinking of getting another one I hope you love her like I do!!!!
LOL it's ok! It did take me a while before ordering the bag, exactly because I might feel conscious that I am carrying a non-Hermes Birkin and to read it being said just makes me anxious. I know some folks said earlier in the thread that they prefer the bag to be a bit unknown so it won't end up being on everyone's arms. But part of me wants the bag to be well-known because then everyone will know it's an MT and not an Hermes wannabe, kwim?

Ok girls my MT bag has arrived. Here's a quick review and photo essay for you all.
First impressions: the leather is very slouchy but if you are expecting a buttery goatskin like older Balenciaga, this is not it. It is pebbled leather and conditioning it did make it a bit softer, but it does not look like "expensive" leather by any means. Actually, the whole bag doesn't look "expensive", to be honest. I like it but I don't LOVE it, KWIM? It would be a perfect price point at about $250. I am a bit mystified as to the actual retail cost of this bag as I just don't see where they are putting in that value.
Further impressions: it is very easy to keep this bag organized as the bottom is nicely reinforced so you can see your things inside very quickly. I still have some issues with it being an exact copy of the Birkin and I find myself a bit self-conscious about using it. Not like anyone here in Toronto really knows what a Birkin looks like it seems but I just can't get past this hangup.
The bag is extremely lightweight so that gets it major points. The handles look a bit weird with the wrinkliness of them and I don't think the bag look good worn messenger-style or with the strap at all. Wearing it with the handles looks a bit odd because the base is rigid- if you could take out the base shaper (I might try this) I think the bag would actually look much better and slouchier. I got the China Blue and would be concerned about colour transfer without applying a protectant if anyone is thinking of taking the plunge on this colour.
Overall, it's an okay bag in my opinion, but I would not pay retail and think they should price it considerably lower. I would consider getting the dark purple for Fall if the price reflected what you actually see with this bag.

... I've been aching to buy this bag for a while now! I am a lil' disappointed by the review ... I wasn't expecting amazing leather but I was hoping that the bag overall was a good buy for the price point. From the pics, the bag looks good on you and the color is gorgeous ... hopefully you'll like it more as you use it! Congrats and enjoy!

It is growing on me...if you can get one lower than retail, I'd say go for it! I stand by the assessment of it being overpriced for what you get. Some bags cost under $100 and look like they cost ten times as much, KWIM? This is not one of those in my opinion...it looks like it would cost less than its full price. I see that the leather is getting softer with use, but I might still take out the bottom panel. Turns out it's glued on. I wonder if it would destroy the bag to take it out?Thanks for your review

I have to say I ordered this recently and was less than impressed with the quality. The seams at the top of the bag right below the handle isn't completely sealed and it honestly looks a little strange like that. I was told that's part of the
'casual bohemian look' but that makes zero sense at all. The leather was also thinner than I was expecting. If it weren't for a 15% restocking fee, it would be going back but I'm just not going to take a $100 loss on a brand new bag.
