thanks, i really am tempted to get a large one while erica has it on sale.
betty.lee - yes it's definitely the weekender size which i have always loved when i see it on someone else who has given it a good wear!
in paris - yes i can definitely see using it everyday with the baby stuff but it's rather big when i have to hang it on the stroller. i'm definitely afraid it would get caught on the stroller and rip. and yes the price erica has them at now is very very tempting. not sure what color i would get though??? only a few more hours till the sale is over

what to do? do you have pics of you carrying the bag?
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner -- time difference.
I apologise, too, that I don't have any pics of me wearing it... One of the biggest issues (other than the fact that I'm always on the other side of the camera) is we don't have any full length mirrors in our place yet
I have hung the MT from a trolley-bag and it's been fine and stayed put. The structure on the bottom has kept it from flopping around and getting in the way. That's
not to say it would hang the same way on a stroller, though. Only you can know that.
As for ripping, I've had it catch on a sharper point in the hot shoe and you can't even tell -- I truly think the leather is much stronger than it looks. Again, I can't guarantee it won't, but it's held up even with a sharp box inside as well and walking through a construction site obstacle course (aka my back yard)... As for colour, I chose black but would have been happy with brown as well -- I think something dark is better because of the size (and ever day use).
As I said earlier in the thread, the Weekender has always been a dream of mine and I still hope to find an old chevre Men's version someday. Still, I would never in a million years wear that in the same circumstances as I do the MT. I'd be scared to use it as I do this and, even with the slightly longer handles, it still isn't nearly as shoulder friendly as the MT.
I take my camera with me everywhere (a rangefinder) and the MT allows me complete hands-free access to shoot, even if I have the bag filled with groceries and wines. I won't kid you and say it never seems to big because there are a few times I bump people with it since I'm so short (and never wear heels -- cobblestone roads here and it's usually raining)...
I've also stuck my camera in the zippered pouch when I've gotten caught in a torrential downpour. The camera came out completely dry (more than I can say for myself) and the bag still looks the same. In a similar situation with my City, I would have put the camera in my bag and the bag under my coat.
The large MT is just a really functional hardy big bag! Even more fun has been all the looks I get when I shove my purchases in it -- people are slightly aghast that I would dare put anchovies or a carton of milk or eggs in such a stylish bag

It may not look quite as nice to us spoiled brats as we hoped, but to those from a distance, it looks every bit as nice as the one in the Olsen pics.
