I use my iPhone to take photos for work (online sales) and the only way I’ve found to avoid the issue is never use the Portrait setting. I have it permanently on Photo.
All the photos I posted are in the Photo setting. I guess different iphone versions may perform differently. My older iphone (6s) never did this. It didn't have as much resolution or detail, but it didn't willy-nilly change the color of the shot. My current iphone (13) likes to wash out all color, and I'm unable to override its color manipulations.
To get the most accurate shade you must photograph with a white back ground and avoid warm light temperatures along the day. Early in the morning or after 7pm more or less are would be ok..
The red background is throwing it off. Try with a white background and natural lighting but not in direct sun.
Honestly I have this same problem no matter the background, including with tight closeup shots where there is no background at all.
Mostly have the same problem. Either the colors are completely washed out or way overblown, no matter the background...
But the pics I took of the two beauties that finally arrived and that I am going to post later do make me kind of proud.

This one’s the yummiest of the bunch so far. The color is very similar to 05 choco, complete with the faintest plummy sheen, though the leather is not smooshy. It’s the least worn in of my large matelasse bags. I think it’s my favorite (and the cheapest, by a lot).

A couple days ago a very special "D" tag arrived. A Holy Grail? YESSSSSSSS!
I can't even really say I found the bag (was just admiring). No, the bag found me in the end.

The color in combination with the PH is absolutely killing me. A real stunner. The leather? Devine. The slouch? Insane.
I still can't quite believe she's mine now...
Two more shots from this afternoon in the same spot, but sharing her hang-out place with my laundry...sorry, lol.
I am deeply in love with this one
My second arrival this week is a color that was never even on my radar. I'm not really much into pinks.
But I saw this pop up and just had to get it, lol. Can't say no to weekenders...and to oldies.
And it is in great condition, almost like new.

Color looks so different depending on lighting. Love that.
Butt to butt (almost broke my leg for this crappy shot, lol)

Never thought these words would ever pass my lips, but I feel content for the time being.
I don't believe in "purse peace", there are just still so many Bals on my wishlist. But I feel no rush to chase for the next one.
