Thanks so much! This really helps. Bigger is better for me. You’ve got me really looking at the Marsh Brown but I’m hesitant because the seller described some discoloration.
I'll also add -- I think these bags look better as they age!!
They just have that laid back, relaxed, casual look and feel to them and I'm telling you the leather is just incredible!!
This is one of the few MbyMJ bags that really could have been an MJ collection bag with the quality of leather & details they put into them. The later seasons were really nice, but none of them compare to those first season bags

I’m so easily influenced! I can’t wait to get mine. It’s so much fun acquiring these great bags with leather that is just unmatched with anything produced these days. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge about this fantastic brand.

I was just saying last week that I wish I could find a Niagara Blue that wasn’t faded
Well, guess what?

IMG_6738.webpIMG_6739.webp

Yes, its slightly faded, but compared to the one I already have (& others I’ve seen), this actually looks pretty darned good! It was described as GREY LEATHER, but you could see the blue zipper tape and the leather really didn’t look grey at all, so I took a chance!

Paid off! When you compare it to the color under the flaps, there’s not really much of a difference at all. The only place I can see some obvious fading is at the very top corners of the bag & a little bit on the back. I think I’m going to get some dark blue leather cream and see if I can enhance the color a bit

Your collection is amazing!! Thanks for reviving this thread. I love MBMJ bags and have always eyed this bag for years! I just bought a dark red one on TRR today! Excited to get it! Do you know is the Sasha and Natasha versions look indentical other that the Sasha being larger? Also how did you make your bag in a shoulder carry from crossbody? --- does that make strap uncomfortable to wear or damage it? I love the idea of all the pockets and wondering if you use your bags regularly and use all the pockets also?

So — yes, the Natasha is just a smaller Sasha
The Natasha didn’t come along until the 2nd season (ribbon lining)
To shorten the strap, you unhook the strap completely. Feed it through one end upside down and then then feed it through the opposite side and flip it back and feed it through the first end (so the strap is folded in half). You can only buckle at the one end. The “teeth” are sort of left hanging at the opposite end end, but I make sure thats the end thats under my arm when I carry it (I can share better pics later if you want)

The bag you bought is a much later release of the PTTM. They stopped using lamb’s leather after the 2nd season & switched to cowhide (thats why those ones are the most desirable). They changed the lining to the scrambled MbyMJ print and then later on to the monogramed satin. The one you got is a more textured leather (I think even the HW is textured on that one)

Thank you for all this information! You are such a wealth of knowledge :) I should be getting this bag hopefully this weekend so I will try out the strap change. Does that allow you to comfortably wear it it on your shoulder? Why was the lambskin preferrrd more? I usually like the look of pebbled leather more. In general is cowhide and pebbled mean it is more resistant to showing scratches?

I saw another post from you wear you shared your bag collection by it was dated much older. Do you have a more recent bag collection post?

You’re very welcome!

I find it very comfortable carrying the bag on my shoulder. I don’t like cross-body bags/straps & have always doubled my PTTM Sasha straps.

The lambskin Sashas were wonderfully soft. The quality of those bags actually rivaled collection bags at the time

I don’t have pics of all my bags, but I do have a collection thread in the Bag Showcase

Could you post a picture of the lining?

Could you post a picture of the lining?

I can take one, but its the same paisley lining as all the other 1st season Sasha's I own
I shared pics of the linings here

Was there something specific you wanted to see so I can focus on that?

Thanks. No need. I just wanted to know what the lining was. I've always admired these bags, but I'm not familiar with all the different details. Now I know what lining to look for.

Here's the beauty! I love the color and how the leather is so soft! I can't imagine how theblambskin must feel if this pebbled leather is this soft already. The birds are cute. I was able to loop the strap to make it a shoulder! I was a little thrown off at first that the biggest compartment doesnt have a secure magnetic closure --- has anything ever fallen out for you?

Congrats!
I’ve never had anything fall out any of my Sasha bags. The flap falls so far over and the bag hangs close to the body, so its not like anyone can reach in and grab anything. Plus there are so many pockets that do have zippers and/or magnetic closures

Thank you! That is good to know! I will be taking it out for its debut this week! Do you use you bags often? Also would you have any idea what is color of my bag is called or what year it is from?

I saw you have several balenciaga bags also. I love the city and mini city bags and own 4 of them but trying to resist buying more. Lol. The colors are great!

I actually work from home & have far more bags than I have time/need to carry!

I haven’t carried any of my Sashas in a while. My son’s girlfriend lives with us & I gave her the faded Niagara & Rust. She also has a purple Natasha from the 2nd season & she carries them quite often

Lately I’ve been carrying my Balenciagas because they’re so much lighter (I have back issues & rib injuries that never fully healed after a car accident). I recently found some new of my much wanted vintage colors so I’ve really been enjoying my Bbags. Aside from my PTTM Sasha bags, I’ve sold all my MJ bags (I did recently buy a vintage Venetia). I love his bags so much, but they’re a little heavy for me these days & I don’t have as much a need for them as I used to

If I had disposable income, I’d have kept all my bags like artwork!
