How about I breathe some life back into it?:graucho:

Although I tried a few MbyMJ bags over the years, this is the only one to really steal my heart!
It became so popular, they carried it over & even produced it in a smaller size
But the quality of these bags never compared to that very first season
Took me 15+ years, but I think I have finally added every color that was released that very first season (at least I think this is every color!!)

L to R: Marsh Brown, Rust, Niagara Blue, Cordova, Black

First up is the original one I bought -- well, not the SAME bag (you can see that one here)!
I bought this color when it was originally released but then sold it to trade it up for Newsprint (grey) during the 2nd season, only to find myself disappointed when the quality was changed. Took me 10 years but I finally found a replacement for that bag!!

Nothing quite compares to this one --after all these years, I still love everything about this bag!!

I found this one on TRR and couldn't resist the price. Honestly, I don't think its ever been used. The aroma of leather on this bag even after all these years is seriously intoxicating!!!

As you can see, the Niagara Blue is the only one thats seriously worn. Sadly this was a common occurrence with this color
Even the leather doesn't have that same buttery softness that all the others have. I wonder if its got something to do with the dye they used. I'd love to find this color unfaded, but I don't know if thats possible any more

If you look back in this thread, you'll see I came close to buying this color originally
Nothing wrong with Rust, but its just not the same as the others, although I do think it works extremely well with this style & gives it a 70s/boho chic vibe!!

Last but not least is my most recent addition - Cordova
This color was only available at one retail outlet (that we knew of) and there was always so little information known about it (if you look back, you'll see members begging for pics of this color)

I was so impressed with this color. If I had come across this color when this was originally released, I may have chosen this one instead of Marsh Brown. Its really a gorgeous color!!

Not exactly
Its more like 15x12 (the ebay seller of the Marsh Brown also says 15 in)
Like I said, I don’t think my black ones ever been carried (I still haven’t used it myself!), so there’s not much slouch, but look at the Niagara Blue to see how much these slouch & “shrink” with use! Maybe the black one on TRR is a little more slouchy than mine (& lets face it, TRR is lazy with its measurements!)

Thanks so much! This really helps. Bigger is better for me. You’ve got me really looking at the Marsh Brown but I’m hesitant because the seller described some discoloration.

From what I can tell, I don't see any discoloration
It looks very similar to mine
The hardware is actually more like aged bronze rather than polished brass so the discoloration they describe is actually how its supposed to look. They could be describing the inconsistencies in color, which are normal for the leather used for this bag. Conditioner goes a long way to improve the overall appearance of these bags (I soaked the Cordova I just received in Cadillac and I swear it looks almost brand new!!)

I don't see anything alarming about that one.
You could always play it safe & go for the black one!!
