19yearslater, i just received both the marsh brown and cordovan from barney's and the cordovan looks NOTHING like on the website. i was expecting it to be more of a brown with red undertones, but in person the cordovan looks more like a muted fuschia, more along the lines of a wine color. it could just be that this particular one was way off from what cordovan is supposed to look like, but i am definitely returning it and keeping the marsh brown... don't like it at all
can you take pics before you return it??

actually, sadly enough, i think i'm going to return both the marsh brown and the cordovan. i found the sasha much too big and the strap is a bit long (and i'm 5'6"). when i put more things in it it becomes too heavy and the flap that goes over doesn't seem to sit right anymore because of all the weight on the main part of the bag. and even with all of my stuff in it there is still more room than i need, but i just can't imagine putting more in there because it's so heavy.

i think i'm going to wait until the natasha from the resort 09 collection comes out because i still do really like the style, just need it to be a little smaller. i called a SA at the san francisco store and she says it will be coming out some time this month and the colors will be black, cement, grape juice and newsprint. i'm pretty sure the two colors on the MJ website right now are cement and newsprint, so i'm hoping to snag one of those two! OH, and she also told me that the price for the natasha will be $100 cheaper at $398. woo hoo!

did you try it with the strap shortened?
I noticed that with the strap at its longest length did make the bag feel extremely heavy, but when I shortened the strap, it lightened it up considerably. It's actually one of the most comfortable bags to carry that way (but I agree - with the strap so long, it just pulls the bag down on your shoulder & makes it feel way heavier than it really is)

Pics of cordovan please!!
:thinkin:I agree with iluv, I travelled Tgiving weekend with the sasha and oh.my.god. it was a BEAST! I kept it with the long strap because I had the baby with me and can't stand shoulder slippage when Im carrying him. I didn't notice the flap getting too wonky but man alive! You would have thought I was carrying a cinderblock! Alas, I love those birds and am glad I don't have to carry so much and day to day

i took the risk and bought the barney's cordovan unseen, and i got it today and i love it! i wanted the black initially but i figured i already have tons of black bags and no red/wine bag, and this is perfect! the red is not so in your face, its actually a pretty subdued fall burgundy/wine color... and the leather is soft, and very light... i love it!

for reference, im 5'2" and i didnt find the straps too long... im going to use it as a shoulder bag though, i just find messenger bags heavier in general

If someone buys the PTTM Natasha can you please take some pics and post them? Specifically a pic of the underside of the top flap...I bought one online and I just want to make sure it matches up ;)
