+1,000 @ LV getting ridiculous. There have been quality issues going on lately such as peeling/bubbling canvas. Their quality is really going down. And Chanel isn't any better. I just got a brand new jumbo classic flap from Saks, and I noticed rusting hardware the day I un-boxed it. I'm pretty fed up with dropping high amounts on sub-par products.

On a brighter note - I'm going to try a MG bucket bag and see how I like it. They look beautiful from what I have seen.

I can't make up my mind between black or gold (Oro) interior. Anyone have any suggestions?

I just can't cope with the $$$ when the quality is no longer there, no is the service. I am finding up and coming contemporary designers have much higher quality leather and I'd rather support a new designer than these big houses just pumping out mass produced junk now days. It's not even bitterness that I'm priced out now, I really have no desire for crappy goods just for the label.

Oh and Well darn it, it was sold, so she is looking for another. Fingers crossed.

I totally hear you. $5500 for a bag with rusted hardware? Ridiculous. I love Chanel, but I also adore having bags I can use without fear - but still feel incredibly special. At this point they are still very unique too.

I would go with gold interior for sure. It's actually quite subtle in the buckets and backpacks, but it brings great joy when you look inside. I have the tote in black/gold and I adore it.

Hi JetSetGo! Thanks for your input. I think I'm going to not be boring for once and go for the gold. I usually pick classic/neutral colors. I was going to go with black but the gold looks really chic! Plus it matches the hardware accents and MG stamp, too! So I will try for the black bucket with Oro interior :)

Speaking of which, I wonder if it's still going to be crazy like last time? I know they are giving us a set time and 5 minutes to check out, but I wonder if the site will be sluggish due to everyone going on at the same time. Kinda scary! But I'll give it a go, at least.

Agree! There are a lot of contemporary designers I will not buy either for the same "mass-produced" reason, but I adore this line and Clare Vivier too. These are brands that are made with a passion for the artistry rather than filling dept store shelves.

OK, my name is rdgldy, and I have a problem. Just got confirmation that my large brandy bucket just shipped……when do you know if you have too many MGs????

Thanks for the advice! I took it to my shoe cobbler and he warned me about using any type of leather conditioners since they will most likely change the color of the bag. He gently hammered over the scratch and it's now smoother and less noticable so I'm happy with the result.

He gently hammered over the scratch and it's now smoother and less noticable so I'm happy with the result. I will post photos of my new bag below.
