Michael Kors Mandarin vs Chili

Top looks like Clementine and the bottom Chili
Both of these bags are listed from website I took them off of, as being mandarin and chilli. Let's try it this way and I am sure this is what Michael had in mind when he named these colors. The first are mandarin oranges, and the others are red chilli peppers. Just like LIME, would be a green, right?? I generally associate food adjectives with the color they come in. Maybe I'm off track?? Perhaps there is another explanation I am not aware of.

Hehe, excellent idea for comparing colors/shades!

I can't wait for the mandarin in my front yard to be full of fruits again! It gives us mandarines for almost 9 months a year!

Oh wow! You have mandarin trees? Where, in California or Florida? How nice that must be. Do make anything like orange juice, or jam??

Is funny you dug up this old post from last May?? Are you looking for something in mandarin or chilli? Is the right season for it, that's for sure!

OK, well here'e the Selma in saffiano. Which one do you think is the mandarin???

Next is the KNOX in soft pebbled leather. Hmmm, these are outlet bags?? lol! I see no difference in the type of leather.affecting the color. Mandarin is orange, and chilli is red on both leathers,

Mandarins are orange, and chilli is a dark red , just like the foods they were named after.

I really like that KNOX with the silver hardware in chilli red! Sweet!

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I own a mandarin purse and it looks nothing like the pics you keep sharing. I own a chili wallet as well.

I didn't dig this up. It was bumped up by another person.

SoCal. We have lots of citruses in our front and back yard, avocado tree, persimon and a huge (old) fig, but for the figs we have to fight the nasty beetles... Some apple tree and a few other fruit trees that are still young. :smile1:

Paula, I am not agreeing or disagreeing about anything. I am just stating what the color difference is between mandarin and chilli. It is orange and red. Are you saying it's not?? Also, I don't get what you mean about outlet bags having anything to do with it. Some of MKs outlet bags cost more money then the boutique bags and I don't understand what that has to do with color? Like I said, I'm must be missing something. So is LIME green more like an olive green if it's an outlet bag?? I don't get it! lol! So your chilli wallet isn't red? I am getting the chilli Riley and I hope it's red! Now you got me worried it might be orange or something. Sure looks red to me! My hubby promised to get me one for my birthday in November!

Maybe clementines, like tangerines? Who knows lol. I know colors can look different depending on the site they're on. That's why it's helpful to see everyone's pix on tpf. :)

They are both RED. One is orange based red and other is true red. Common sense? There are several shades of red, not just one. Blue based, orange based, true red, pinkish, etc.

Great comparison of three of many different shades of red. The mandarin in this isn't the same as the ones shared above by CinthiaZ.
OK, thanks for clarifying. I am glad to know mandarin is red. I always thought mandarin was orange. I did an ebay search for Mandarin MK bags and they all looked orange to me. Must be the photos are all photo shopped or something. Hard to tell in pics, I guess. I just don't understand why Mk would make something in red and name it after an orange colored fruit! lol! Weird. So what color is tangerine, really?? I am going to have to go to Macy's in person and make sure that chilli Riley isn't orange. I want a red. I have been searching for a bargain on the internet. I better go in person and check it out. I don't want it to be an orange color..
