I just ordered medium messenger in chili! Hope I will like it this round. Have been trying to get colorful selma but ended up selling it away and back to my selma navy again haha..

I think you will like it! I bought a large jet set crossbody in Chili to use for travelling. The gold chain looks great with the vibrant red.

@nichaidez would you say mandarin looks more orange than red in person ? or is it closer to red
I have a Mandarin Hamilton and it is definitely orange. I am surprised to even see this thread when Chilli and Mandarin aren't even close. Chili is Red , just like red chili, and Mandarin is orange, just like a mandarin! lol! :confused1:

I don't know if it's just me, but my mandarin selma does not look that orange. I noticed the difference when I brought it to the outlet. It could be because 1- it's smooth leather 2- outlet shade variantes. But yes, there is a huge difference in my mandarin and the outlet version.

Seems like mandarin from the outlet is more orange than mandarin from the boutique. Mandarin from the boutique is orangish-red.

I started this thread back when chili was new and wasn't able to see it in person yet. From what I'd seen online, it looked kind of like mandarin, hence why I was curious about the difference.

IMO, this outlet Hamilton in mandarin looks nothing like the boutique mandarin. This looks more tangerine or burnt orange. MK has so many colors with such subtle differences.

Well a Mandarin is an orange. I eat mandarin oranges all the time and they are good! lol! Also there is quite a bit if difference on how the colors appear on the Saffiano leather and the soft leather bags, so I know what you mean, but i would expect mandarin to be orange and Chili to be red. Did you know they make GREEN chili in Colorado?? lol! That could REALLY get confusing!

There again, it must be the difference how the color absorbs on the different leather, between Saffiano and the soft leather bags.

Your right CinthiaZ, even navy blue looks different when you compare saffiano and soft pebbled leather. My navy mk in soft leather is brighter than mk saffiano in navy. I noticed this when saffiano became really popular. The color saturation seems more concentrated or something on soft leather.

This is not the same as boutique mandarin, whether soft or saffiano leather. I have seen mandarin on both soft and saffiano and it is very different. This is more like a burnt orange! There is no red tones to this one at all whereas mandarin has red to it. Just my two cents

Is funny you dug up this old post from last May?? Are you looking for something in mandarin or chilli? Is the right season for it, that's for sure!

OK, well here'e the Selma in saffiano. Which one do you think is the mandarin???

Next is the KNOX in soft pebbled leather. Hmmm, these are outlet bags?? lol! I see no difference in the type of leather.affecting the color. Mandarin is orange, and chilli is red on both leathers,

Mandarins are orange, and chilli is a dark red , just like the foods they were named after.

I really like that KNOX with the silver hardware in chilli red! Sweet!
