I am a 20 year old (gay) guy and I would love to carry a Speedy 40 monogram as an everyday bag. The Speedy B is too expensive, so I wouldn't be able to get that. I dress pretty low-key. Usually I wear dark wash slim fit jeans with a button down shirt or a sweater, and converse. Nothing too flashy. I think because I don't dress too outrageously that I could pull off a bag like this. Would it be appropriate to carry a Speedy 40? Is it edgy or obnoxious? What do you all think?

I have seen men carry Keepall's or Speedy B's and it is a little more masculine but I think a man having to carry a Speedy by hand or in the crook of the arm might not be the low key look your going for.

Definitely, the Speedy 40 is big enough - had you said the 35 or even 30, why not but that would probably take a lot more confidence to carry off ;-)

That said, the Speedy 40 B carried on the shoulder is more masculine... it depends on what you wish to project.

I have the speedy 40 !!!! I got mon mono bc I wanted something a bit different (speedys are too common so I wanted to dress it up a bit!!!). I love the 40, definitely go with the 40 for a guy. 35 seems small and a keepall (even 45) is actually massive for everyday. Plus I agree its crazy the jump between keepall 45 and speedy 40, but they are different bags and the keepall has more vach (aka more expensive and also more worrisome for me !!).

Im 23, gay and a male. I wear basically the same clothes as you, sometimes with pops of bright colour, and ya the speedy is obviously not a subtle bag, nor is it normally seen on men, but hey why not be a bit edgy and different. I saw get it, you wont regret it, and carry it with confidence. Heck I even carry mine in the crook of my arm, you'll get some looks and the odd comment depending where you are, but you'll also get so many positive ones too !!! (everyone at the hair saloon was raving over my bag !!!)

Hey Calvin, I would definitely save up and go for a speedy B, in the long run you have the option to carry it by shoulder or remove the strap and hand carry it like a doctors bag. It's worth the money to have options trust me!

Based on your style have you looked into the damier ebene speedy 35? Not sure If the go up to 40? That pattern would match well with your look I think. I have the keepall 45 DE with strap and the extra 5 inches certainly makes it too big for an every day-quick on the go bag.
