Thank you for your response [emoji7] I refuse to let one person ruin my experience with H. I'm not going to hold my breath for that ever elusive offer, but I also won't feel bad if I happen to come across a really helpful SA. There's hope for me yet!
Yes, absolutely. Some of it is just plain old good luck. Sending lots of good H vibes your way!!!

I really don't think there is a set number one has to spend to be offered a bag, there are so many variables such as country, store inventory and number of clients. In this thread there have been all sorts of numbers thrown out. I really think a great SA is the key, mine hustles quite a bit for her clients.

From my own experience, I guess I spent about the cost of a B over the first year or so before I was asked if I wanted a bag. Then over the time I waited for the right bag to come in, I continued shopping. While I try not to think about the annual totals, I do keep a list for insurance purposes so i could figure it out but I would rather not.

I've bought very little this year in other categories because I bought 2 bags in Feb (one in Paris/one home store) and just got another for this "semester". I will buy the items I'm excited about in Fall and try to not worry about offers because I do not need any bags for now.

From my observation in the store, attitude is everything. The SAs/SM deal with a lot of demanding, pushy and entitled clients. I've witnessed shocking behavior directed at the SM who handled it graciously but you can bet that guy is not getting the B he was angling for.

Hi everyone,

I don't live near a boutique, so I tend to only pick up items online or when I travel. I have found the service in boutiques to be cordial, but usually not where I felt a need to establish a relationship with one specific SA. Recently, however, my boyfriend was in a Las Vegas boutique looking for a wallet for me, and the SA (let's call her A) definitely went above and beyond to help him. He was not dressed well (probably in gym clothes) and committed the faux pas of snapping pictures, so I was really impressed that A offered to help without chastising him, and even patiently showed him items after she was scheduled to be off.

After I received the wallet, I send A an email thanking her for her time. She responded but cc’d several other employees, which seemed odd. Months later, I emailed A to let her know that I would be in Vegas soon and asked which colors of the Garden Party her store had, and again, she cc’d other employees when she replied. Is this standard practice? Am I supposed to hit Reply All and/or include the other employees when I email her in the future?

Thanks for any insight you guys may have.
Yes, my sa is also in Europe and she always cc her sm and assistant sm when sm is out. Normal practice...i sometimes forget to hit reply all, not a huge deal because when sa replies, she will include sm in cc again

Ahhh thanks. I was confused about whom to include if I emailed my SA with mundane questions, but it sounds like they like to keep others in the loop regardless of what I'm emailing about.

If your SA has to order an item on your wishlist (ex: scarf, shoes) from another store, does he/she still get commission?

Yes so long the transfer and deal is successful closed

I've heard the following in early 2017:

If you would like an item sent to you that the store doesn't have and it's in stock on the website, your SA can order it from the web inventory and send it to you and they receive the full commission.

If you would like an item sent that is in another store's inventory, the SM can try to trade for it so it goes into the home store inventory and then they receive full commission.

If the sending store doesn't want to transfer it, the credit towards the store's sales goal/ the SA commission is split between the two stores. I don't know exactly how it's split but my SA wasn't thrilled with the latest change.

My SA is an over sharer

Heard the same as you.

My experience has been all over the spectrum...my first SA at my local boutique offered me a B after only a few weeks and very very little spend with her and then she offered me a K just a few months later. I subsequently 7 got 2 more Bs from her but then she left the store. I am now on my 3rd SA with much more unspoken "pressure" to spend on non leather goods.

@MrsOwen3 I totally agree with your post. After shopping for a while with my SA, I realise I don't really keep track of my spending anymore, not like before. I buy what I like and will continue to do so whether I get a bag offer or not, because I know my SA has got my back.

Maintaining a good attitude and not to be demanding is also important. Nobody owes anybody else a living so be nice and kind to all.

Absolutely agree with you both. My dilemma is that I'm not sure if my SA has got my back or not. I guess I will continue to be patient and loyal to my SA and see what happens

I completely agree. I don't buy just to up my spend to get bag offers, and only buy the items I really like. Outside bags, I've only shopped for SLGs (which I hear doesn't "count" towards your spend?), silks, and some fine jewelry. After visiting several H stores before "settling down" with my SA, I am very happy with how she comes through with my requests. Although, I am lucky that one, my home store is a large city with lots of inventory and two, my SA's title on her business card is sales supervisor. If that's a step up above sales associate, maybe that's why she's able to get me the more sought-after items?

I've spent over $13k in the past 8 months or so and have not been offered a B, K or a C (yet). I recently emailed my SA my wish list (after my SA said it was ok for me to) and never got a response or acknowledgement of my email. I keep hoping my SA is keeping an eye out for the perfect offer for me, but I can't help but wonder if I'm being strung along and when I should be thinking about switching to a different SA. And, I don't even want to think about how awkward that would be if I happen to run into my current SA if I do switch.

I really love the brand and have purchased a variety of things that I truly love and use every single day. But it's frustrating to know there are no rules and that there's a chance I may never be offered a B, K or C.

@ittybitty Don't be discouraged! At least your SA asked you for your wish list. I'm sure your SA is doing his/her best to find the bag of your dreams. Maybe on your next visit, you can casually bring up the subject about the bag again and give your SA options. Certain colours are not so easy to come by, so if you happen to like a colour from this season, last season or a certain colour family, you should mention it too. At least you are 'helping' your SA in a way by giving more options. Also, on your next visit, see where the conversation leads, you will be able to gauge whether your SA is truly truly genuine in helping you achieve your wish. Good luck!
