Yes you are right, I am from Asia. Today I went to a different H boutique after work. I looked really tired, super under-dressed and wasn't exactly in the mood to shop. I just wanted to pick up a bottle of perfume to cure this Monday blues (retail therapy) - and, lo and behold, this boutique's vibe is much more friendly and they didn't appear to judge how I looked. All of them smiled at me, and I really appreciate this because I never received this kind of service in my current boutique where I spent tens of thousands.

So, conclusion is.... I'm probably going to change a boutique and enjoy my H experience. Reading all your wonderful stories in tpf makes me wonder why I don't feel the same whenever I shop at H. Because to me, it's not JUST a handbag or JUST a piece of jewelry, but the whole shopping experience that I am missing out!
Upwards and onwards! :-) your new boutique sounds much bettter and like they are more deserving of your time and business!

If there is anyone who has a secret forumla to change SAs within the same boutique, please share. It's not for me but I am curious.

Well remember that YOU are a customer not them, so it shouldn't be a problem.

In my experience as a guy, I tend to prefer lady SA's for some reason and H stores are no exception. Maintaining a relationship is important imo not just at H, as when you build a relationship with a SA, telling them stories how much you like their products & show interest, you'd notice they'd offer you items YOU would like rather than just them doing their job.

I've always only bought belts, ulysses & perfurmes from 1 Hermes store, and I know both the guy & girl SA. However, when I had sudden interest to ask about the Birkin even though I wasn't gonna buy, the guy SA suddenly had a change of air as if he's judging me for showing interest for their sought after women's bag. I couldn't buy it even if I wanted to, but why can't he just make small talk? The lady SA would always love to chat a little every time I buy & I appreciate that! So when they the day came that I wanted to inquire about their Evelyne bag, I made sure I make contact with the lady SA.

Hi Ladies, I just starts a relationship earlier this year with my SA and luckily I got my first kelly after spending thousands. I was ask when I can get my first B and told I will have to build a new profile from July to December in order for another bag, is this true that we always have to start over our purchase history every half year? So all our previous purchase doesn't count?

I think this "rule" varies based on which country and which store you purchase from. If you are told this then I expect it's probably true that you need to spend more money at your store. You aren't exactly starting over, because they already know you, but probably the store expects you to keep being a good customer and keep helping them meet their sales goals. Maybe you can just buy what you only really like, take your time, and slowly get your next big purse purchase?

Thank you for your reply, I agreed with you , it just the word" new profile" kind of makes me nervous. . I am from California US, there are two HErmes boutique close to me, do you think it's better to maintain a relationship with two SA for higher chance offer ?

I'm in Europe right now so I'm really not sure about the US. I've never shopped there consistently. But I think most people would say to develop a relationship with one SA. I'm friendly with all the SAs in my home shop, but there's just one I ask for things from and buy from. I think focus on one. He or she already got you one bag, right? So that's good. Do you feel like that SA will come through for you again? I think the words "new profile" would make me nervous too! I think your SA is just trying to hint that they need you to keep being a customer of non B/K items too. I think it just depends on if it's worth it to you. We're not all exclusively H shoppers, so I know we all want to get other things too and also save.

I am from the US too. After each birkin/kelly purchase I was told by my sales associate that I have to purchase a certain amount (and around half that amount must be non leather goods) in order to qualify for being offered another birkin or
Kelly. Your previous purchases before u purchased the last birkin or kelly don't really count towards the next bag. I would suggest working with one sales associate at one store especially if the SA has to meet certain sales quotas before they can offer u another bag rather than spreading out purchases
over two sales associates at different boutiques (unless one of those stores can offer u a birkin without having to spend as much).

How much are you asked to spend total to qualify per bag? I'm interested if you are comfortable sharing the info! :-) I know sometimes it's vague and sometimes it's really exact.

Thank you for your reply and info, it makes me feel better knowing we both had been told the same thing. I will take your advice staying with one SA , you are right that separating sales amount isn't seem to be a right choice. Do you know if Constance count as" one bag per half year? "

I would love to know too!

Sorry for the repeating comments , trying to quote the comment from weatcoastgal. I have that same question in my mind as well~

At my boutique I was told you can purchase a Constance without it counting as the one bag u can purchase per semester. However U have to spend
A certain amount on other goods to be offered the bag. The rules may be different for other boutiques

So far, I am pleased with my SA. She did help me on my first kelly, the only problem with her is that she always super super busy, likely don't reply my email or never able to answer my call, it's really a doubt whether she will return my call or not even I left voicemail, because the traffic is so bad to the Hermès boutique, I just want to make sure she got what I looking for before I stop by, do you mind if I ask how likely your SA gets back to you ?

I was told the guideline is to spend as much on other items as the price of the bag u want with approximately half that amount being spent on non leather goods. So if u want a croc birkin u would have to spend considerably more before getting an offer [emoji28]
Again, this probably varies for different boutiques.

It's usually pretty hard to get in contact with my sales associate via phone as she is pretty busy whenever I call and whenever she calls back I miss her call. Perhaps try calling your sales associate during less busy times such as right when store opens or on weekdays? I can rarely ever reach her if I call in the middle of the day. My sales associate is pretty responsive to my emails at least.

Fortunately (or unfortunately for my bank account [emoji23]) I live close to the store and try to drop in on a regular basis, browse around the store, and purchase items that I really like. At the same time I will also remind her of my wishlist items.
