Calendar year. They also have personal and store wide sales goals that ended on the 30th so it was probably those metrics she was rushing for.
Does the end of the month goal apply to every month throughout the year? My SA also offered me two N QB’s end of last week. Wondering if it’s something to expect/look forward to at the end of every month?

They have multiple goals but end of quarter and year are big ones. Not just from a revenue perspective, but it also impacts what and how many things the SM can order.

Correct and it can be a double edged sword. Often times if they’ve already met their goals, they will hold good stuff back to start the next period off with a bang. Lately end of month has been a bad thing for clients, not good.

I agree that only TIME will tell... so no need for the desperation and urgency in asking for feedbacks and guidance after each and every encounter and transaction.
This is the best advice, and thank you! I will keep your words as this is very helpful. My original post (#9,805) was simply asking a question about what would happen to my SO placed if I switch a store/SA, but the discussion somehow got distracted/nasty, etc. (By the way, I am trying to avoid any argument with anyone here. My focus has been gathering insight/information to make an informed decision.)

Here's some updates: I met with my SA in the home store today, and she made it sure that I am not in trouble at all. (I guess I worried too much!) She told me that if I don't want to wait for a B35 in box leather (since we don't know when it would come), I can get the B35 in some other leather next month. So, I will have to decide how I want to proceed.

My SA was actually worried more about buying items from resellers because (in her view) I am already a VIP in the home store and should have no problem with getting any bag(s) [and it's just the matter of time and availability]. She was OK with getting some items from other boutiques only if she cannot get it for me. So, I was very much relieved.

Overall, I appreciate all of your inputs when I posted my last inquiry [i.e., since the post #9,805].

PS. She also added that Kelly Messenger PM is just another men's bag (e.g., Kelly Depeches 25) and is not a big deal at all.

PS 2. @Bdbunny - I very much appreciate your kind words. 🤩

I was away for part of this discussion so I feel like I missed something. If the issue was “is my SA jerking me around because she hasn’t gotten me a B in box leather?” I can tell you she is not. I have discussed box with my SA and she said she has not ever seen one in our store. (She is on the newer side) I 100% believe her and I think it demonstrates how rare box can be - depending on SM.

I hope you had a great time with your family in France. The issue was not that at all. The issue was that I bought a non-QB (i.e., Kelly Messenger PM) from a different boutique in the US, which my SA in the home store would find out eventually. The SA who offered me a Kelly Messenger PM also actively asked me to work with her to get the B35 by the end of this summer. So, I was asking a question in this thread if it affects my SO placed earlier this year in the home store if I switch an SA/store. My SA in the home store said that it's not a big deal for getting that non-QB elsewhere (especially because it's a men's bag), so I was relieved.

Regarding the BBB35 - I was originally thinking of Birkin 35 in black/PHW in any leather, but my SA was very specific that I should get the BBB35 this year because she thought of me for this. (She mentioned that it would be the perfect one for me given my background.) Then, I did my homework searching for the box leather and have agreed to get the BBB35 if it's offered to me this year. I will have to see how it goes though.

Also, the Madison Maison got a lot of Birkin and Kelly bags in box leather last month, and some of them are displayed on the 4th floor. So, your SA should have seen them.

Cross posting from the Overheard thread, since this question has come up before. As always, every experience is different, this is just what I overheard lol.

While in the dressing room, I overheard another SA talking to her client, and it seemed like a client she knew well, not a new one, about the process of bag offers... I didn't catch all the details but I did hear her say that one of her clients switched to another SA in the same boutique because she thought she would be able to get a bag from that SA. And the SA was like, "nope that's not how it works and she didn't get a bag from her either!"

I’m just wondering when folks go into the boutique for an appointment with their SA, how long do you typically spend at your appointment? An hour?

My SA has never rushed me or mentioned to me that there’s another appointment but I try to be conscientious about my SA likely having appointments after me and keep mine to an hour, just in case. After trying on RTW pieces (a mix of pieces I’ve told her I was interested in and she also brings some pieces she thinks I might like), I find there isn’t a whole lot of time to check out other metiers that I wanted to check out. I know, another good reason to go back to the boutique… The only thing is I live 3 hours away (assuming no traffic) and want try to make the most of my visits…I can probably spend several hours in H lol. Just curious, since I feel like with doctors/dental/etc appointments, it’s a defined allotted time slot, but with H, as usual, I never know lol.

I ask my SAs what time their next scheduled appointment starts. In Paris, London and in Asia. Just want to add that in my personal experience, CdCs in FSH generally only take two appointments in a day. 🙂

I'm very chatty so I could never do all my shopping in only an hour LOL! I think my appointments are typically around 2 hours, but I have been known to take over 3 hours lol. My SA will sometimes book me a 2 hr appointment, because he knows this is how our appointments go. And sometimes if his next client arrives, he goes between the both of us. We're used to it and think it's hilarious. (like in the movies when someone is on a date with 2 people and runs back and forth.) In Paris, my appointments also take 2-3 hours. I don't visit as frequently, so there's a lot to catch up on (gabbing) and a lot to see as well.

Maybe before your next appointment you can ask your SA how much time they have that day because you would like to look at X, Y, and Z, and this way they know you may need a little more time than usual too.

I just got in and out in under 30 minutes today! I purchased three items. My SA thinks I’m hilariously efficient.

I usually am done in an hour.

To maintain a good relationship, it’s of course best to be considerate and respectful of an SAs or clients time. When I ask my local SA for an appt, I indicate kind of what I’m interested in, or DH is interested in, or both. We rarely come in with a list, and we like to rummage around and be surprised. But, our SA tends to pull stuff that she thinks we would like. So, they block however much time they think we need. We’ve never been rushed, but to be polite, I always check if they are crunched for time. Sometimes they run late with someone else, but that’s not a big deal. I wait on the couch or browse by myself and/or chat with the SM etc. I’ve rarely if ever shopped in an hour or less, bc there is so much to see and try on.

Sometimes, if I text last minute that I am in the area and want something, of course, I understand that they may be busy and I don’t want to take up too much time. In that situation, they do me a favor if they can squeeze me in. I’ve never shared time with another client though. At FSH, at the start of the appt, my CdC assures us that I have all morning going into early afternoon (so I think they do book 2-3 hours). Mine shops with us throughout the store, including leather. She does bring in a sweet SA who helps with men’s RTW, who we know from prior visits. So it’s kind of like a mini reunion. An SA, either local or abroad, also needs time to hunt up items, check sizes, run around, so it’s best not to rush. *

ETA: I prefer an appt, first thing in the AM on a weekday, but on some days midweek, it’s more convenient for me to go early afternoon. For the latter time, it is a lot more busy, and understandably my SAs and I don’t take as much time together.

I also love to hang out with @haute okole and her SA. He is clear on booking two or more hours with her (I’m just a bystander), and it’s nice to chat and relax first  That is their special rhythm. Everyone is different.

*ETA: my FSH CdC comments that she sees some appts every month. She said of course she makes sure to book more time with those of us who she only sees twice a year.
