But wait there’s more…
Yes! After exotic everything is different. And this comment I make with the caveat that my SA is awesome!!!!! And has always been awesome since the day we met.
Absolutely correct - I got my exotic QB (croco) from the store manager, and that changed the relationship with my SA to the better.

So, I went to Paris this January. I am not sure why the individual SA in FSH was not able to see my US account. I had to create a new account in Paris then. (But, I do hope that the corporate - not individual SA - in FSH could see my both US and French accounts....?)

Do you know if the US corporate can also track my French account? (I don't think the individual SA in the US can see my history in FSH either...)

Thanks!

So, I asked an SA (that I currently do not work with) today and she told me that the US system can tell if one has received a quota bag from overseas. The US system doesn't say which quota bag it is but it will show up....

Hermes gurus, not sure of the right thread to ask this… I will be in Portugal next month. How competitive is it? My SA here encouraged me to stop by and ask and even to mention her name to facilitate conversation. She doesn’t know anyone there but said it would show I am a regular. I don’t want to prespend just in case as I prefer to shop with my SA but would be willing to make a sizable purchase as a “thank you” if in fact offered a bag. I guess my question is about both strategy and well as feasibility. I know there are random posts about people being super lucky but that is not a strategy. I am after a really light color MK or K25.

@bagnn1 I agree with @acrowcounted with her helpful info. I also heard that BH is the most competitive boutique in CA and the ratio is usually around 4-5:1.
Yes, my current prespend there is 5:1 and still no QB offer 😭. I'm contemplating whether I should switch stores or continue my journey there to see if I will get offer my QB. But I just don't know if I should take the risk of having to end up spending more not knowing whether my SA will eve offer me a QB or not. I'm starting to lose hope at this point.

How long have you shopped for to get to 5:1? You’ve talked to your SA about your wishlist already?

I expressed a QB wish to my SA a few months ago, on my last visit I enquired about the status. My SA pulled my wishlist records from her records, we validated a few things on the size and colour preferences. She said if my wishlist item comes I will need to come within a few days to pick up. My SA knows I am not always around but I told her I would be able to arrange to come & she just needs to tell me when to come :)
I am not sure if I should interpret this as a possible soon offer or not. Should I check-in/follow up with the SA next time I visit the store? I am getting close to 1-1 spend.

Additional info should be shared to answer your questions. Which QB are you referring to? Specs? Second, where are you located?

If you are in China or Korea, and if your SA agrees that you should be ready for a QB, that means within a week or 2-3 weeks at most. In Manhattan? I was told that I should get it and waited for 4 months (for a non-quota bag).

I think this is just normal SA-client talk and isn’t indicative of anything. It’s pretty much what they say to get out of the conversation while acknowledging the topic for the client but not really having anything to promise and without having to give disappointing info (ie avoiding say “no”) Sounds like she’s clear on which bags you are asking for and wanted to make sure you knew bags are only sold in person. She probably has this exact conversation with dozens of her clients a week. I’d continue shopping with her and not always pester about a bag. If you’re in the US and hoping for a bag on the smaller side, you probably have a fair bit more spending to do before an offer (reasonable expectations are 2-5x prespend these days unfortunately).

unfortunately wait and spend times can be quite high at US maisons depending on length of relationship; number of other clients waiting; and stock considerations. I have a good relationship with my SA and was eligible before 5X but it didn’t come in until about 5X and a year of wait. This was a few years ago and was a B25 sellier gold. I had no specific wish list, and my SA was keeping an eye out for the perfect bag for me. Since then I maintain roughly 5X between accepted offers ( I have gotten other QB offers in between but rejected them). Note: your SA cannot offer any of his clients a specific bag unless he is approved for it; one’s personal profile is not the only consideration.

I would not interpret it this way. I think 1:1 is quite low, and at that point, I personally would not bother checking. JMO though. I don’t really count bags, leather, or first floor items in soend, but other Members vary

Agree.

I have posted several times here and everyone has been so helpful so I would love to hear opinions on my current situation. I am based in US and asked for a b25 neutral ghw since 2023. I am at 3:1 spend in only rtw and fj over a period of 6 months. I was patiently waiting but did not hear back since my last appt in Feb so I texted my SA for an appt this month. She then asked if a b25 in a non- neutral color was acceptable and I declined. It was far from neutral and I would not use it as much. I am really itching for a new bag to use and started looking at other brands. I do want to add a mini lindy and c24 to my collection eventually but primarily wanted a b25 first. Should I just ask for a mini lindy in my appt next visit or keep waiting for the b25?

I’d keep waiting. A coveted non quota bag will push you out of the immediate queue for a good quota bag. It sounds like your SA is trying and that the B25 could happen very soon so I’d try not to derail that progress.

Keep waiting. At 3:1 spend* and only six months, I would budget at least another 6 months assuming you continue to spend. There are clients ahead of you at 5X and a year who are still without a bag, quite a few on this thread. There have been reported instances of new clients who get coveted bag offers, perhaps high net worth or with strong potential for future spend, IDK, but they are the exception, not the rule. If you are at a US Maison like BH or Madison, a leather SA will have better access to popular bags, but also a longer, higher spending client roster. A SA cannot offer you a particular bag unless he himself has been approved to do so. This is only my opinion, based on what I have been told or experienced, of course.

* I do not include leather goods, bags, or first floor merchandise in my rough spend criteria but ymmv

@acrowcounted and @880 thanks for sharing your perspectives. That was the first time I checked in with my SA on my wishlist, hence was not sure how to interpret the response. Sounds like I should just continue my regular shopping with her and see how it unfolds.

I'm in Canada and was looking for K28 in a neutral colour (gold/etoupe etc.). My SA confirmed that K28 would be somewhat less competitive as compared to K25.

My spend is largely on jewelry, shoes, and home and I choose not to request any nonQB not to delay my QB offer.

I’ve heard that Canadian locations are extremely competitive. I also agree that you should look at a 1 year or longer time horizon. Don’t settle on a mini lindy or even a K28 if a B25 is what you want ultimately. Hopefully, you can enjoy the RTW, home and jewelry pieces you already have and maybe slow your spending if you think you need to.
