Thank you for your response. It has always been prepaid. I presume it’s either because it’s a high ticket item so she wants me to pick up in store versus baiting me back into store.

There are some stores / regions with policies where they are more careful about mailing items higher than X dollar amount. I forgot what the cutoff amount was at my store, but I had some jewelry items I wanted - in stock at my own store - not able to be mailed out to me and I had to go in person to pick them up. Whereas most times my SA just mails things to me no problem. I don’t think it’s a hard policy either and may be they just want to be extra careful when the value is higher (and sometimes the SM will allow exceptions).

Hi all,
I just started working with an SA about a month ago. She was super friendly and helpful in person. Fast forward to this month, I have a few friends birthdays coming up and wanted to get them all perfumes for their birthdays so I texted my SA to see if she could ship one of them directly to my friend. My SA just left me on read with no reply. Does this mean she can’t do it or this is something she’s not interested in helping me with?

Does anyone have advice for coming back after a hiatus? I thought I was ready to start my H journey about a year and a half ago and had a pretty decent prespend going, but I lost interest after a couple of months and things petered out. However, I'm now at a point where I want to seriously restart working towards QBs.

I know that at this point my prespend from before is a lost cause, and I'm okay with that. I would like to start over with the same SA/boutique as before, but I'm really concerned that they'll think I'm just going to dip out on them again and I'll never get an offer. FWIW, I think my SA and I got along reasonably well at the time, so I don't think there are any issues there (as long as she still works there, anyway). But the main thing is, even if I have to get a new SA, I really don't want to switch boutiques if it can be avoided because the one I'd most likely switch to is notoriously competitive and is much farther away.

Is it worth reaching out to my original SA again, or have I really blown it?

I am relatively new to this, but I do not think there is any issue because it wasn’t like you went MIA after your first QB offer or you were shopping online or at other boutiques while you were MIA. If anything, you gave your SA sales/commission previously with no string attached. I am sure your SA will be delighted to connect with you again. I would probably go to the boutique to reintroduce myself rather than trying to reconnect via text. Very exciting! Good luck!

You’re over thinking this. Just go back to your SA since you liked working with them. I’d probably just joke about how much you love the brand and shopping with them but “life got in the way there for a little while but I’m so glad to be back!” or something stupid. With people getting new jobs, moving, divorces, deaths in the family, etc I’m sure it happens more often than we realize. Heck, you may even get some “the prodigal son returns” special treatment.

If you do a charge send in store.. do you have your SA send to your home or do you pick up in store? Is there a difference? I noticed that some items my SA says I will ship to your home and some items she says come back to the store to pick it up..
In the US, I have everything sent to my home. Mailed if it's not my home city, messengered if it is. The only thing we've ever been asked to pick up was a clothing item DH had left as a template for MTM. (No idea why they couldn't send that...maybe because it was our item?)
In France, I usually stop in, but they do offer messenger service.

Wow! I have done charge-sends up to about $15K or so (mainly bags and jewelry), haven't tried with anything more expensive than that!

Honestly I would never ask an SA to ship a perfume. They *can* send gifts - my SA shipped out a few business gifts for me this past holiday, but it was homewares/office stuff and shawls - but for relatively low-ticket items why would you not just buy online? It's pretty time-consuming on the SA for, say, a $250 purchase.

It means she can't directly ship it to your friend without you being in the store to purchase the perfume. Experienced members on here say that not receiving a response usually means No or not possible.

SAs can absolutely do gift shipping via phone or text; I didn't go into the store at all in December, but sent out several holiday gifts all of which I arranged by phone, email, and text. I think @mydogisadiva 's SA most likely does not want to go through all of that for a very small purchase.

No issue. SAs understand life happens .

@mydogisadiva , agree with others that SAs can charge send gifts to a recipient. Simply, your SA might have been too busy to answer (they aren’t given extra time to return texts, but have to do it between appts. Hermes corporate tends to prefer their SAs do business in person.

Mine does charge send for gifts, and I trust his taste enough to ask him to pick out the gift. But, it’s easiest if I ask him to do so at the tail end of an appt. I think until you have a rhythm going, it’s best to make these requests in person.

For those of you whose SAs have left the company, how did you find out about it? Were you told directly by your SA that they’re leaving or was it a surprise? And how did you go about finding a new SA? Were you introduced to someone else by your previous SA or did a manager/the store arrange this for you?

Didn't happen to me but happened to a friend. No notification, texts were sending as green texts instead of iMessages, no response.. she called the store to set an appointment up and they confirmed her SA was gone. I am sure it varies person by person and some found out by notification, but she was upset about it

Did she eventually get a new SA?
