My Hermes SA would not earn commission if she had to transfer an item for me
Some stores will not release a popular item unless charge send or credit to them. Otherwise agree with @acrowcounted that whomever facilitates the transfer gets the credit. Re chanel, my SA told me that transfers require a lot of email and sometimes horse trading back and forth, so it’s a significant amount of work for them. Not sure about the amount of legwork required at Hermes.

They are cracking down on multiple accounts for one household.
My SA has told me this as well. I don’t have any other Accts in the US, but my SA knows I shop twice annually at FSH and it does not impact offers in either location. ETA: my accounts worldwide (I also shop in Asia) are all under the name of DH
it sounds like they dont care how many accounts
This is contrary to the general statements made by both @acrowcounted and @papertiger.

I have multiple accounts, 4 or 5 at least, but it's H's fault and H's problem. They can see it's all me, myself and I because they all have the same name and phone number (if they cared to check). They point this out every time and say they'll do something about it every time. Groundhog day. Same conversation every time I buy: "Which one are you?" I'm every single one, even in French, I should ask for multiple bags - then they may do something about it

Sorry if this has been asked but I can’t find it on search — can SAs order items from different countries inventory? Or is this partly why some of you have multiple SAs from different countries? Don’t want to step on any toes finding out how to get something myself from abroad, but also reaaallly love this piece

Thank you. We dont have same last name, the only same info on our accounts I can recall is the address. Now you just mentioned one household, it sounds like they dont care how many accounts but as long as sharing the same address equals to one household? or as long as bringing my DH with me every time going forward will help?

I guess you can say that technically they don’t care about multiple accounts…until it’s time for quota bags. If you don’t care about those bags, shop whatever wherever however you like. Once you get to the approval stage for a quota offer, things get looked at and it’s likely then that they found the other accounts and flagged you.

Definitely not the first time we heard this happening with the client told that they won’t be approved for a bag unless they make a choice of where to shop going forward. Sometimes they were even told explicitly that if they don’t, they can get blacklisted (although I suspect in one such case which I read recently elsewhere, it’s also because that person was flipping a lot of what they bought and got flagged as a reseller).

Is it possible for them to look the other way? Of course. We know there are people who can get more than the 2 quota bags per year on even one account. But if they told you that they want you to consolidate and obey the quota rules in one account, I suspect you have not done enough for them to look the other way.

The short answer is no. There is something called world wide search but that’s not a simple nor fast process so I don’t think that’s quite what you meant.

No, they cannot touch other countries inventories without doing a “World Wide Search” which is a painful process rarely done anymore. With the crazy high demand for Hermes items, stores prefer clients to just buy whatever is in stock in front of them and don’t really bother with any sales that take more effort.

Generally speaking, I find this so bizarre. I get why they're doing it (I mean, we have a pretty good example right in front of us), but there are undoubtedly reasons why there'd be more than one account in a household. For example, my sister and I shared a place before she got married--it makes way more sense for us to have two separate accounts because we're two separate people with two separate incomes having two separate shopping experiences.

But tbh the post you're referring to had a whole different issue: someone using a spouse's account to make purchases without the spouse present.

They probably figure the clients they want most are flush enough to have singular (or even multiple solo owned) properties. But yes, I agree and I don’t think your example would be an issue. It’s not an automatically done process yet, though I do think it gets automatically flagged, the implementation of merging accounts seems to be with some discretion.

They can do a world wide search. The store requesting for the item would need to foot the shipping fees. So, probably they don’t do it for customers whose account is not big enough. However, I haven’t heard of anybody doing this for a while. Maybe due to poor inventory levels or each store being overly protective of their own stock. Not too sure.

My SA did a world wide search on a piece of RTW for me, around the end of last year, nothing came out of it though. :shrugs:

So one of us should've used our second home's address instead. Got it. :P
