You can request any item you are interested in. Not all blue box items are of the same demand. Some are actually way more difficult to sell than classic bags so letting your SA know you are interested is always a good idea just in case one happens to arrive to the store.
I have to ask what blue box stuff sits around generally? Kelly lettre happened before my time but I’d love that bag. I suspect my inquiry into Faubourg Nuit and Himalayan Diamond will be met with a chuckle. 😂😂😂

So here's a thought: how does one get to know the SM? Obviously, the SA relationship is the primary one, but it can't hurt to be friendly with the person who makes the overall decision, right? Or at least be known to them?
I find that it depends on the store. Smaller stores the SM may actually be on the floor assisting customers and you would never know! So you may have already met the SM! Also I have had the assistant manager approve bags for me if the SM is away at podium etc. Larger stores have a floor manager in addition to the store director and they may actually be the person who approves the bags. I’ve seen my floor manager out on the floor too. I have inadvertently met the SM and have also been introduced by my SA to SMs and floor managers. I think if you’re a regular, it just happens organically.

Yep for sure. In my case I was introduced to my SM by my SA, and afterwards my SA in fact let me know that the reason is that they think having the SM know me can be very helpful! Now how much does my SM actually remember me…I have my doubts haha. If you think of how many clients an SA has…multiply by how many SAs there are…

My SM does hang out around the store and say hi to folks (assuming they aren’t busy off doing other work) and we occasionally have a quick chat, which I guess even if it doesn’t help much, doesn’t hurt! Plus it is always good to chat with someone about Hermes, SM or not (it’s why I’m here on this forum  ). Unsurprisingly, what helps in my experience is if I’m enjoying my Hermes goods. Could be that I’m carrying one of the bags the store has sold me, or something much smaller like how I’m styling a scarf and they will compliment the outfit. Also, one of the most common ways to meet them I’ve found (as in it’s most likely they are around) is when you are placing an SO. Like @Bdbunny mentioned above, it kinda happens organically as your relationship (history) with the store grows.

Yes @momoc makes a good point about wearing your H items or carrying your H bags. The first time I inadvertently met the SM was because she complimented my outfit. I didn’t know who she was at the time! And we ended up chatting a bit about my non-H shoes (they were Louboutins) of all things lol!

I also enjoy chatting with the SM and floor managers about incoming products… and last time I had a really fun convo with my SA and SM about what we thought was a cool idea for jewelry, right before she went to podium. She said she mentioned it to them so hopefully they like the idea too lol!!

I can attest. Have the chat with the SA and things can happen. I mentioned to ours how much my wife loved the shadow B ever since JPG came up with the idea of it, and we were got one a few months later.

Well to start the space malice is a blue box I think…(I know I know it’s an extreme example).

ETA: generally I think checking how much something resells for (how much above retail) on the secondary market is often a good gauge of their difficulty to get.

My SA introduced us when I was checking out and they happened to be behind the desk. We had a quick and pleasant conversation while my items were being boxed up. We’ve exchanged greetings a few times since then.

I feel the introduction was purposeful on my SA’s part so I appreciated the effort.

I thought there was a thread on limited edition bags but it’s a thread on limited edition items and some bags are included. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/limited-edition-hermes-products.585386/page-19

Thank you for the response. I guess it never hurts to ask because you just never know with H.

in my case, we shop as a group of 3-4 of us, and we have different SAs. So every time we're in store, it's like a big party. That's how we know each others' SA, assistant managers, floor directors and managing director.

My SA introduced me to the SM while I was picking up my first alligator Birkin. Sometimes he is coming over to say "hello" and we have a quick chat :coolio:
